Sleep deprivation (caused my sleep apnea) also results in vivid, visceral dreams. Taking anti-anxiety meds or sleep aids before bed relaxes your soft palate, which can obstruct breathing (even with a CPAP in use).

TL;DR being a pill-popping drug addict screws her brain in two different ways, so it's hard to pinpoint the exact cause.

Ambien is a hypnotic and can cause hallucinations. That she abuses it with alcohol and has obesity related sleep apnea no doubt contributes.

Ambien and booze. That shit is pretty strong. She's going to overdo it eventually and not wake up, Nora seriously needs to realize how dangerous mixing pills and booze is.

I'm sure she'll read this and complain about it though, probably say I'm hoping she dies which isn't true.
