One of my first big "redpill" moments regarding the discussion of race, especially by the media (and how they should be thrown into a volcano,) was how George Zimmerman was presented and that apparently like half of Americans have eyesight issues that are the equivalent of the dental issues of the British. Zimmerman, white (German via his father) on one side and brown (Peruvian) on the other was only considered and called "White" because of a killing that the media had deemed to be a (racially motivated) murder. Meanwhile had life taken a totally different path and he discovered the cure for cancer, he'd be a shining example of "Brown Latino Excellence." Had life taken an even different path and he was killed by an actual white guy, he'd be an example of a "brown man being killed."

That's pretty much the same cycle we went through with race in the 90s/00s. You were encourage not to see race, and effectively be color-blind. Then they whipped the rugs from under our feet and argued that doing this was more racist than noticing race constantly.

I assume the same will play out here. It's just whatever works for them in the moment.
