Yeah from what I've seen they're directly from his book on Amazon. There has been some debate if he actually wrote it or if it was some Kindle scam of YouTube subtitles, he didn't really seem to defend himself at all but maybe that's due to the stress of the situation. Also they bought all the books and are aware of what context the quotes were written in. The TTS is moderated so no one leaves early and that's a lot of work. If Simmons material was fine in context, they wouldn't have kicked him off the show.
