Most autistic thing you've purchased lately - c'mon feel the cringe

Today - 50lbs of Monkey nuts, I've got a resident squirrel who's became very tame to the point of eating out my hand sharing my workshop, she's a lovely little animal really friendly and totally unphased when I am working she just sit's one end of the shop watching me and the dog's don't mind her either.

I've also sent off some casting cores for something I am working on, these castings are kinda big (well for me) but it's part of a long term project I have going on for myself and I have enough spare cash on hand to get them done now and if I don't get these done now it will be a few years before I can get them done again.

40 casino-grade dice so that the people that like to bitch about getting bad dice rolls in our 40K games will have an option that is as close to perfect as current materials allow.
Have some tongs ready so you can make a big show of not touching them while you get them out of the box.

A 75 dollar hoodie even though it’s summer.

Do not ask how much I’ve spent on car parts and additives.

I once spent several hours a day over several days doing a chi-square test (according to instructions in Dragon Magazine I believe) to see whether my dice were in tolerance and about 2/3 of them were completely fucked up, and I threw them out and did something like that.

A Google search shows it was almost certainly this article: Dragon #78, Oct-1983, p. 62-65. I think I have a full run of Dragon in PDF somewhere so I could post it if anyone's interested. I used to have it on paper. But here's a more recent blogpost noting that his own method was prefigured in that article: https://deltasdnd.blogspot.com/2011/05/balanced-dice-in-dragon-magazine.html (archive).

Buying winter clothing, bed clothes, heaters etc in summer, and vice versa, is the most financially sensible thing to do. Everything is always much cheaper out of season, and you can often find quality items that you'd normally struggle to afford that way.

Bought some Final Fantasy books, ordinarily I don't go for vidya novellas but these were actually pretty cheap so why not
They fill out the story before XIII (left book), after XIII but before XIII-2 (middle book), and bridging what happens between XIII-2 and XIII-3 (right book)

Apropos of absolutely nothing, why do I get the feeling I might be getting my first Autistic sticker/reacts with this post

There's a sweet spot to hit, when things are cheaper and yet still available.

I've had the best luck/best discounts in meatspace, where the retailers are trying to move flannel sheets and heated blankets off of their physical shelves in the springtime. Online, they'll toss you a discount, but usually not as much as a brick store. Unless it's fashion, it doesn't bother them as much if something sits in the warehouse.

That being said, I got a heavy winter coat for very cheap in an online summer sale, but I waited too long and didn't get my first choice of color and I had to go up a size. (Which is fine, because this is isn't for pretty: it's a big insulated snowpocalypse coat that I'm going to be layering with anyway. I did want red though.)

I'm honored to be the first to rate your posts as autistic

No, but I'd like his dice if they were available in Platonic solids.
Gamescience dice still come in the standard forms as well as the goofy ones. If you look for their 7-sets, they're the usual Platonic solid dice, just razor-sharp and untumbled.

Well, the d4 has blunted tips, but that's probably for humanitarian reasons.

Bought a DVD/CD player. Our computers don't have optical disk drives, and mostly we watch videos online. Got a nice one with a 15-inch screen on Amazon for just under $70 delivered, with tax. Have tried it out with DVD and CD, works well. Has rechargeable battery, also came with DC adapter for wall power, car adapter, and patch cord if you want to connect to a TV.

Bought a (new) cassette player. Toyed with the idea for a while, as I really enjoy old music tech and the unique sounds it produces. Didn't wanna roll the dice on a genuine vintage Walkman, so just ordered up this cheap Chinesium machine that looks pretty cool.

First tapes ordered: Invisible Touch, Genesis (US import, 1986) and an old Pimsleur tape + book combo from the early 90s on Mandarin study.

Should be cool messing with one of these for the first time in 25 years...

Not just but it's the Mrs birthday next week -

New Bicycle, her last one got stolen and we like to go out for a ride in the Spring and Summer so I got her a new one.

I also got her a sewing machine she's had her eye on, she's into vintage fashion (much like myself) and she's been eyeing this old singer in a antique shop window for the last month or so, she doesn't know I've got it for her the plan is we'll go for a ride or out for lunch and I'll message my sister and she will put it in the house for me at the moment it's stashed in the Horse Box and I won't mention it's there and wait to see how long it takes her to notice.

I tried to buy a Blair's 2005 Halloween Reserve from a seller in the United Kingdom. Suffice to say, it's pretty hard to obtain rare items on Ebay and I ended up getting a refund. Well, at least I still got Blair's World's Smallest Reserve and it comes with an awesome packet of Blair's Jersey Death Sauce. The taste is mediocre as expected with Blair's other really hot sauces that uses extract so I suggest mixing these sauces in much more tastier sauces. I'll see if I could get a Blair's 2AM Reserve or Blair's 6AM Reserve at the hot sauce shop in Calgary.
