I've been consistently disappointed and amazed at the site this whole time. It's janky and something like the Hassle % is an easy thing to fix but then I think about the people running the show and am impressed they got it to the current state.

I'm wondering if the parents didn't teach her shit because they didn't want to put pressure on her due to sexual abuse/ED. It's not uncommon for parents to act this way, as if their child will break if they give them any discipline. Unfortunately, that kind of parenting doesn't do your kid any good long term, as we can clearly see with Letty here.

My sympathy can only go so far, having fucked up shit happen to you, does not give you an excuse to do fucked up shit to others. I understand that they're playing a game, but some of her non-game related actions have really irked me.

This would explain a lot of her behaviour. She clearly has very low self esteem, just judging by the way she dresses, eats and cleans.

It really says something about the other fish and whatever "appeal" they have (besides Jon, obviously) that Josie's becoming my second favorite just by virtue of having some standards.

In regards to this I see that it is theorized that Letty has BPD. To clarify BPD and Bi Polar are not the same also its worth noting the following:

Researchers have used MRI to study the brains of people with BPD.

The scans revealed that in many people with BPD, 3 parts of the brain were either smaller than expected or had unusual levels of activity. These parts were:

  • the amygdala – which plays an important role in regulating emotions, especially the more "negative" emotions, such as fear, aggression and anxiety
  • the hippocampus – which helps regulate behaviour and self-control
  • the orbitofrontal cortex – which is involved in planning and decision making
A number of environmental factors seem to be common and widespread among people with BPD. These include:

  • being a victim of emotional, physical or sexual abuse
  • being exposed to long-term fear or distress as a child
  • being neglected by 1 or both parents
  • growing up with another family member who had a serious mental health condition, such as bipolar disorder or a drink or drug misuse problem
So as I believe you noted earlier it is shocking how Letty specifically lacks basic skills around the house such as washing and cleaning which may indicate a neglect on some level (but that's just me assuming)

Also its worth remembering that BPD is part of the Cluster B Personality traits pool:

Cluster B. Cluster B disorders involve unpredictable, dramatic, or intensely emotional responses to things. The four main cluster B disorders are:

  • ‌Antisocial
  • ‌Borderline
  • ‌Histrionic
  • ‌Narcissistic
Further more BPD is on a sliding scale and traits can lessen over time but there is NO definitive cure. These people are dangerous (see amber heard for more).

While I'm sure some of my post has been covered in the 900 odd pages I just wanted to clarify as someone in that field of research and to apply context to why Letty may be this way.

I think that's the reason why I dislike her the most. Asides from autistic tics and stimming she provides basically zero content and interacts with the other contestants almost not at all.

Asides from Damiel (who lies in bed all fucking day) Josie probably provides the least active content.

Yeah, I honestly forget Josie is there sometimes. I think she has some cute moments but she doesn't really contribute to the social aspect of the house. I can't imagine what it will be like if she makes it to the end (which I think she probably will) and it's only her and one other person in the house.

I wonder what they'll do to keep the content flowing when there's only a couple fish left.

I usually just watch, but I was busy this weekend. Was just hoping someone could put together the highlight reel of this weekend in a post. All I know is I think Jon and Letty were flirting then had a shouting match or something
