Ralph has said he'll attend AA and I have no clue how they work, but I used to work in the treatment of gambling addicts and we'd often try to find out any additional addictions/triggers for their behavior and try to get them in contact with the relevant support. So I'm wondering if Mexican AA will do the same and recommend he seeks professional help to curb his Xanax addiction, as if he's serious about kicking the habit he'll fucking need all the help he can get.

AA isn’t a business, they’re not professionally advising addicts. It’s a bunch of addicts getting together informally to help each other. Individual members might dole out unsolicited medical advice but that goes for any group of humans socializing.

She'll have a harder time doing that than previously. She's obviously damaged goods, has never been that good looking, and looks like a dude. Someone with actual willpower who maybe got addicted to benzos because of an incompetent doctor rather than deliberate drug-seeking behavior could probably taper off them over a period of months (which is usually what it takes), but that's not Ralph. The usual routine is cut it by half the first month or so, then taper off even more slowly.

A true addict (i.e. just basically a global addict like Ralph is who automatically overdoes any substance of preference) isn't going to be able to do it alone. It's basically a joke to think he'll ever quit without serious help. I think he's actually pretty much doomed even with help. He's a fuckup on the express train to Hell.

It also depends on what kind of rehab. There are things like the Salvation Army runs that are basically free. They generally require a time and work commitment (180 days) that a lot of people aren't willing to put up with.

There are also people who quit entirely on their own, just having realized that they're sick of what their life has become. And AA, pitiable success rate or not, is entirely free. Even with a 12 percent success rate if you stick to it and actually mean it, you'll probably eventually succeed.

It's just that the majority of people who repeatedly fail rehab really aren't serious about it at all, and there's really nothing even the best recovery method can do to defeat an addict who just really wants to keep doing drugs.
