I assume Erin's goal was to make people go "Oh wow, the situation is so bad that trans people are resorting to buying hormones online and endangering their health and wellbeing! We need to overturn these transphobic laws right now" and instead people are going "They're buying hormones online and taking them without medical supervision? That's nuts, someone needs to do something to stop this".

If you're an autist computer programmer who thinks he can do bodyhacking and that the medical establishment is getting in your way, you might prefer to get your hormones online (e.g. the NHS doesn't proscribe progesterone to trans women, but it's often seen as the surefire way to get massive mommy milkers and your libido back, so off to the internet they go). Likewise predators want the option of running stuff like catboy ranch, which by necessity requires illegally sourced hormones that they can groom children into taking and secretly send them. Plus as we've seen, there's trans people convinced they're all about to be genocided and so are trying to rapidly source and stockpile hormones (including the one in the AP article that apparently was only taking half-doses of what was prescribed, to fuck up the bloods and get a double dose to stockpile).

Unless healthcare providers start just giving out any and all hormones in whatever combination or dosage asked (and yes this is something that gets brought up as a desire to let trans people have "ownership" of their transitions, health consequences be damned) there's going to be a bunch of trans people opposed to anything that shines a light on this practice. Cat's out the bag, though.

This. A surprising amount of these autists think that if they can wrap their head around a programming language then they can wrap it around their endocryne system, which is total nuts. They don't know just how wrong they are on the most basic level. Human body is such a complicated system that medicine is still struggling to work out stuff. The sheer amount of tests done on troons who are led "properly" by hospitals to check if their system is not about to go fuck all just shows how unstable it is when messed with. I cant imagine what is going on in the endocrine systems of these twats who can't even be sure if the stuff they are taking is estrogene and not gamer bathwater (not going to talk about cleanliness of that estrogene because we all saw the hair), because it comes in anime girl boxes with no traceability.

I'm frustrated about not being attracted to women.
I'm gay, have always been gay, and have never felt any kind of attraction towards a woman - and I'm proud to be gay! But most of my friends are either bisexual or lesbians. As a guy with autism, I try to "solve" or figure out everything through a logical "factual" lens even when that isn't possible, and get very intensely frustrated if I can't "solve" something.
I want to "solve" the logic behind attraction towards women, I want to understand what they feel and why, but I just can't: I find myself over and over again watching porn with women, reading romance with/about women, etc etc, and even if I hate it I just can't stop, I feel like I have to keep doing it to "figure it out".
I think that frustration has boomerang'd and now I get very intensely frustrated and upset when I see a woman expressing sexuality or desire in any way. It's also developed into a strange ideology about how men should only date men, and women should only date women. I know it's bad, wrong, sexist, even -phobic of literally anyone who isn't a monosexual gay man; I know I should talk about it with someone, but I'm afraid I'll be misunderstood and ostracised: I don't want to tell my therapist because she's a woman and I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable around me, and I don't want to tell my friends because it'd jeopardise our relationships.

I just feel sad and alone and like I can't heal this nasty part of my brain. I don't want people to agree with me (I hope nobody agrees with these things with their full chest), I just want help.

I think that's the worst thing about this queer everything nonsense. We're giving an entire generation of youth a fucking complex over not being homos.

This started with the idea that children who were homos would grow up without a complex for their orientation. That is a good thing, people should grow up feeling safe and happy about who they are. Sadly, post-modernism got involved and we all course-corrected too far into straight up insanity.

1/5 of gen Z identifies as queer. Homosexuals, unlike trannies, have always existed in our records at about 4% of the population. So now we're expected to believe that 20% of an entire generation is now homosexual? No. Most of them are straight kids who have been shamed into feeling like being straight is the backwards/deviant sexual orientation. When classrooms have pride flags, teachers are suggesting transition to children without the parents knowledge, when the entire world flys pride flags all over social media for a full month, when the adults talk about the horrors of children being sucidial about being a normal confused teenager - is it any wonder that the social contagion is going on?

These poor kids. They never had a chance. I saw a tweet the other day where the mom said that if you want to cut back your child's screen time to have a baby. Kid will come to resent the screen, because he knows that mom is paying attention to his sibling and act out to get mom's attention back on him. I was horrified.

I was one of the few people I knew who had a computer in my house back in the stone ages (1980s). We were limited to one hour on the thing. Two hours of TV a day. The rest of the time we had to entertain ourselves. We grew up just fine*.

Back when I was kid, parents were not our friends. Something changed during my childhood I think to create the parents the adults my age and younger are. I do wonder if the pendulum will swing back with the children of gen Z being super strict.

Yes, it's new as of about the early 1980's. Before then, gender was sometimes a polite or more specific synonym for sex. The distinction was created fairly recently by sociologists and cultural Marxist "philosophers", and it's an extremist idea with no foundation in reality.

No human or animal has ever been "assigned a gender at birth", and there is no such thing as "socially constructed".

I thought when these people refer to something being "socially constructed", they're referring to say, roles associated with one sex varying by country to country. It is something rooted in society norms and is largely arbitrary. Other examples usually cited as "social constructs" are borders; Europe and Asia are technically one landmass often called Eurasia and people have varying definitions on where "Europe" ends and "Asia" starts. Some people consider North and South America to be one super continent (the Americas) while others don't.

But these freaks misuse the term "social construct" by telling us that physical distinctions of sex aren't real or claiming that 3 or more "genders" exist that are entirely distinct and have no relation whatsoever to the male or female sex.

I see what you mean, but for these examples, I'd struggle to describe why the terms "convention" or "idea" aren't more accurate.

Borders are things that we can observe and agree the position of, and change by agreement. They're a different category of thing from the ineffable characteristic of "gender", which is supposedly a "social construct" yet can't be observed by anyone but the person claiming to have one.
