So if I'm reading this correctly, it'll involve releasing the manifesto, unredacted and uncensored?
They've actually handled this shooting far better than previous ones, but the refusal to release the manifesto is quite suspicious.

As much as they love it when BLM, Antifa, and troons terrorize the general population, they don't want it to happen too frequently, or at least frequently enough that they cannot deny that the ideologies connected with all are inherently criminal and violent.
Otherwise they discredit themselves.

The school itself does not want the manifesto released.
A lot was made of the fact that the school had as sexual abuse scandal back in the day. Could the feds actually be protecting some abusers and not the trans community? I know those two groups overlap, but I don't think there are/were troons employed at the school. If there were, they were quiet about it. If the church is really worried about the schematics and shit, they could ask for them to be redacted. I am sure the groups suing for the release of the manifesto would be fine with those details not being made available. Stopping the release of the entire thing just doesn't pass the smell test.

Institutional abuse in schools, foster care, hospitals, or any other sort is rampant, particularly with kids. Religious schools get passes to cover up sex abuse of kids left right and center. Between that and the troon protections it might be hard to get this manifesto out.

The absolute most charitable explanation for why Covenant wouldn't want the manifesto released is a fear that whatever the contents are, would radicalize more confused youth to shoot up christians.

10% of K-12 students get molested by a teacher so it's not surprising at all that there was a sex scandal. Basically every school has a history of that.
