Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

My point is, I don't see how the Nazi thing is relevant. We've seen the Ukrainian soldiers DO horrible things to soldiers and citizens in Eastern Ukraine. Who cares if he has a fucking Tri-Force tattoo? They did horrible things. Despite some people in Wagner PMC showing off Nazi symbols, I've not seen any reports of anything like that from Russias side.

I don't know why people get so hung up on symbology. That Ukrainian soldier just shot that Russian surrendering! Isn't that worse than a squiggle?
I guess people get hung up on it because the entirety of Europe and North America has an obsession with claiming Nazis are a threat in their own countries, despite a staggering lack of evidence, and use Nazis as the go-to bogeyman to justify any authoritarian action or censorship they like; yet are not only fine with actual nazis but fall over themselves to give them money and weapons and good press.

Can't have it both ways so don't blame people for getting frustrated about it and show that they really are nazis. Because whether or not it's relevant to any given war crime a Ukie commits, it's most certainly relevant to Western propaganda. And it's Western propaganda that turns a Ukranian civil war in which half the Ukranian refugees flee to Russia, into an unprovoked invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops for no reason.

Update in the Invasion - May 20th, 2023 - Day 450

Battle of Bakhmut - Russia has fully captured Bakhmut

  • After 293 days of the start of the battle (since August 1, 2022) and 139 days of urban combat (January 1, 2023), Wagner Group PMC units and VDV paratroopers of the Russian Armed Forces have fully captured Bakhmut on May 20, 2023, as reported by journalists within Wagner Group Brussinf and Remylind23. - https://ghostarchive.org/archive/sXACd
  • The Ukrainian assaults on the flanks occurred NOT because they want to capture Bakhmut, but to capture enough territory so that the Ukrainian garrison in Bakhmut can easily escape the city. The Ukrainians have ditched Bakhmut and withdrew to the suburb of Ivanivskye (called Krasnoye in pro-Russian circles) in the west. The assaults have lost the momentum, as the Russian Armed Forces guarding the flanks are on better terrain in both north and south, which stopped the Ukrainians from going further.
  • On May 19th, it was reported that Russia holds 99% of Bakhmut, with the only 1% being a grey area, as all units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are withdrawing from the city. A conclusion I can make that will lead to today is that the Russians swiftly captured the last remnants of Bakhmut, which is the Sovkhoz District and a commie-block complex called "Tetris" in Southwest Bakhmut.

And the map of the city as reported by Brussinf, one of the most reliable pro-Russian journalists, due to his reports on Ukrainians gains in their assaults on the flanks. - https://ghostarchive.org/archive/xIxpM

Suriyak Maps also reported on this.

YouTube reporter Weeb Union made a video on Bakhmut's capture.

What now?

  • Wagner PMC units will be taking a rest after months of combat taking over the city of Bakhmut, but will come to the Russian Armed Forces' aid if they need it. The most next probable targets for capture is Ivanivskye (to keep grinding the Ukrainians), Andiivka (to lift the shelling of Donetsk), or Seversk (to straighten the frontline). Russian general Sergey Surovikin, known for his competency in the battlefield, has mentioned previously that after Bakhmut, the next targets will be Kramatorsk and Slovyansk, the last Ukrainian-held major cities of Donetsk Oblast.

Ukrainian unit and equipment casualties

Chronicles of the Bakhmut Military Conglomerate in Numbers according to Remylind23 (take with a grain of salt).
  • The 21st Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was defeated
  • 10 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine completely lost their combat capability
  • 57,000 APU men killed and over 85,000 injured
  • Destroyed more than 10,000 pieces of equipment and weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
  • More than 50 planes and helicopters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were shot down in the sky over Bakhmut
  • Destroyed more than 6.5 thousand foreign mercenaries
  • more than 100,000 units. Small arms lost APU
  • more than 35000 units. Weapons were captured from PMC Wagner during the battles for Soledar and Bakhmut.

I'm hearing from reporters on the Russian side that Wagner PMC units have fully captured Bakhmut. Will keep updating this post on this.
Ukraine apperantly denies this:
"Russian mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin said on Saturday his Wagner fighters had completed the capture of Bakhmut, but Ukraine rejected the claim and said fighting was still going on."

More interesting stuff

Wagner PMC head Yevgeny Prigozhin's speech on the capture of Bakhmut.

Russia captured Bakhmut on the first anniversary of the Russian capture of Mariupol in May 20, 2022.

Deep State Maps still has Tetris and the Sovkhoz District under a grey area. Those are the buildings on the yellow road in the grey area.

I haven't been paying much attention to the war lately. Why was Bakhmut chosen as the holy land by Ukraine in the first place? Seems like that shot themselves in the foot putting this much importance on a small city. Now they have to explain how they lost an important battle to everyone.

The cope is real.

Every city is the most important city while being defended. After they fall to the Russians the city was never important and was just a feint to get the Russians to throw bodies into the meat grinder. See also Mariupol.

I don't think Biden's handlers are letting anyone kiss him - he might mistake the kisser for a little girl.

He probably can't arrange it but I wish Prigozhin could splat DC and give the 50 states a chance to choose another path. Maybe we could quit giving 'aid' (usually pallets of unmarked cash) to everywhere else and give our own people some. God knows it's badly needed.

I'm having issues getting images/videos to show over tor, does anyone have a text follow up to that missile strike a few days ago that allegedly took out an Ukrainian air defense system? There's been some back and forth that Ukraine successfully repelled the attack and even launched a counter, but it also looked like while it might've not been destroyed Ukraine had to use an absolute shit ton of missiles.

Bakhmut the end point of two major logistics routes from western Ukraine into the eastern Donbass region. It worked out to being the fortified center for supporting Ukrainian pushes into the Donbass and Crimea. Also the center of their defensive line in case their originally planned Crimean offensive failed. It's not a slam dunk on the war or anything, but it was strategically important.

There is information emerging about Zaluzhny's whereabouts: t.me/RtrDonetsk/17622

Rumors continue to circulate around the sudden disappearance of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
Being a media personality, Zaluzhny was constantly in the lenses of Ukrainian and Western media. In terms of the intensity of flashing on TV screens, he is second only to Zelensky himself.

However, no one has seen Zaluzhny since May 8. At all events requiring the personal participation of the commander-in-chief, General Naev is present. Even at the next meeting of the heads of military departments in Ramstein, where the issues of supply of arms and ammunition necessary for the upcoming counteroffensive, which are critical for Ukraine, were discussed, Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny did not participate even online.

According to our source in the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Zaluzhny is alive, but in critical condition in the main military clinical hospital, where the fight for his life continues, incl. with the participation of foreign experts.

On May 8, Zaluzhny was seriously wounded while at one of the command posts of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Dnepropetrovsk region, when he was checking the readiness of formations and units for contrasting.

During a missile attack on military infrastructure facilities in the Dnepropetrovsk region, this command post was hit by a precise hit by a Russian cruise missile. As a result, a large number of high-ranking Ukrainian military personnel were killed and wounded, incl. General Zaluzhny.

The information about Zaluzhny’s injury is indirectly confirmed by the fact that on May 10, his wife Elena was seen driving up from Novospitalnaya Street to the Kyiv military hospital, where she spent more than four hours.

To prevent panic among the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ukrainian military, information about the serious injury and critical health of Zaluzhny is being hidden. The Ukrainian special services have been tasked with demonstrating Zaluzhny's activity in every possible way while the fight for his life is going on.

Hence the appearance in the media of all sorts of "stupid" interviews, allegedly recorded recently or photos from the vacation of the commander in chief in Cyprus. Agree, not a very good time to rest when preparations for the upcoming counteroffensive are in full swing. And the loss of Bakhmut is also not a very good situation.
TL;DR
He is rumoured to have been struck by a cruise missile, ending up hospitalized in critical condition.

I hate to tear down the curtain but just about every standing military in the west has unironic nazis in their ranks. I met a lot of them while in the US military. The difference with Ukraine is that they adopted nazi symbols and leaders on a national level and used it as a point of pride to promote unity and morale.

Sky News made a video about this that basically boils down to 'we don't know what happened', though admit that "the city has been captured really by the Russians for a number of weeks they've controlled 95% of it for a long time"

One of the commenters is coping beyond all reason:
