Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

Today on /r/fuckcars, a carless person asks their fellow car-haters what cars they own.

I don't care if it was brigaded, this thread is hilarious.
Turns out the "self-hating car enthusiast" demographic ended up being almost the entirety of r/fuckcars. Who knew?

I can't stop laughing out loud at this thread, this is classic lolmilk :story::story::story:
Doubleposting because my last post is huge.
Philly apparently elected a decent (for a Democrat) mayor:

Philadelphia is already pretty good with its narrow streets, cobble surfaces and one-way roads. Ignoring the crime, if I didn't have a car, I'd like to live there. But of course it's never good enough for urbanists.

Yeah, until this new mayor whips out idk mandatory chomo storytime or something, it seems alright. I'm an hour away and since moving here Ive only gotten into Philly once for some meme cheesesteak. And parking around that area was a goddamn nightmare

There is a strange overlap between r/cars and r/fuckcars so I'm not super surprised.
If I remember correctly their cope is basically that they hate "commuters" (people who actually use their cars for a living) and only want to drive their cars for fun. Brianna Wu is one of these people, he wants everyone else to take the bus so he can have more room on the road to drive his Porsches.

As mentioned before with all these people it's all projection. Whatever they accuse you of they're probably secretly into it. Just like how some male feminists secretly have rape fetishes.

North and West Philly are the most dangerous parts of the city and Parker, while an alcoholic moron who couldn't attended her own victory party due to "dehydration", ran on a tough on crime platform, including hiring more cops and bringing back stop and frisk. Naturally, the "progressive anti-racists" on Reddit and other social media are calling blacks and Hispanics low IQ retards who don't know what's best for them for being more concerned about their children being shot on the way to school than having extra bike lanes. The urbanists truly do not give one shit about the poor.

If you want to live in a peaceful city, you have to have a tough police force. Even over in Utah, we hear how Phily is basically methhead city at this point. To clean that up, you need armed citizens and police that are allowed to take druggies off the street and break up homeless camps.

The cope goes deeper than this. They think car dependency itself causes crime and will never admit it could be caused by anything else.

Today on /r/fuckcars, a carless person asks their fellow car-haters what cars they own.
In theory these are the kinds of car culture critics I have far less problem with than the anticar zealots. People who own cars either out of necessity due to living in a car dependent area, or enthusiasm for racing them or personal travel and road trips, but who nevertheless wish that society had better public transport and biking infrastructure so they wouldn't need to use their car for everything in their daily lives. I just wish they would be more skeptical of places that push the zealot narrative like fuckcars and not give so much credence to the zealots. The ones who blatantly own a bunch of cars and then go on to repeat every stupid talking point I have no respect for, they're just acting like total cucks.

Philly isn't doing well but its reputation is a bit harsh. North and West Philly are your typical intercity ghettos with high crime but it's easy to avoid those areas. Videos of drugged up zombies in Philly nearly exclusively come from the Kensington neighborhood. Again, not difficult to avoid that area but the issue there is that the East-West subway, the Market-Frankford Line, goes right through it and as a result the conditions on the train are horrific. Screamy bums everywhere and open drug use. It's a disaster. If you ever come to Philly just avoid those areas and the MFL and you should have a fine time.

See when I compare that to where I live, that is still horrific. And they barely allow guns, so you're fucked if a methhead sneaks up on you. The place needs cleaned out beforeI would consider visiting, I'm talking sending in Space Marine tier levels of kickass.

They can't seem to accept Taiwan is mostly Chinese all on this small island where people have agreed not to be wiggers. Are the bikes cheap? Yes. For us maybe. Usd to Taiwanese is a quite startling difference. People realize that stealing another's bike or stuff is fucked up. What a civilized society should.

Various penalties and surveillance help too, I guess. But they don't kill thieves, the death penalty is just for drugs, guns and murder, unlike what that commenter seems to imply. The majority of executions I've heard of are for drug smuggling.

High trust? I'm not entirely sure.

I guess parts of Bruce Springsteeen's clip "Streets of Philadelphia" was filmed in North Philly.

Lately a couple of the r/fuckcars posts have had guys casually mentioning their "e-bikes".

Those things are basically electric motorcycles these days (They're not at all popular where I live so I had to look this up - you can basically run them without pedalling).

I don't think that that subreddit is as tolerant of ordinary motorcycles (I'm damn sure they'd call the cops on someone riding one in the bicycle lane!). That is hilariously hypocritical.

Their car posts were on another level. Don't think I've laughed so hard in weeks.

This subreddit should rename itself: I suggest r/fuckyourcariwanttheroadtomyself

The funniest threads always have a "this isn't a lolcow" discussion at the beginning.

The whole thing sort of reminds me of the South Park episode with the hippy concert where the hippies explain they want to start a commune where they produce goods and services to each other, where someone makes bread and another person protects people. The boys point out how what they're basically describing is a town with a baker and a cop.

I've said this before but they are basically just reinventing things that already exist. It's hilarious when some of them have those three wheeled e-trikes to carry more things because essentially what they've done is reinvent the Benz motorwagen. If only there existed something that could carry more things than a bike and had it's own larger lane so they don't have to ride in the bike lane/sidewalk.
1684671392256.png
Heck even the earliest motorcycles initially started off as bicycles with engines attached to them.

Here's Honda's earliest motorcycle:

So far from what I've seen some motorcyclists have been trying to get in on the car hate as well, but I see it more of a "Liberals get the bullet too" type thing happening when the time comes. There's no way a motorcycle will fit into their "walkable city" vision.

This might be my own personal schizo theory but I think the whole thing is just a psyop from the powers that be to eliminate people being able to independently travel without depending on the state. They keep shifting the goal posts of what they're actually advocating for because sometimes they feign it like it's an environment concern when electric/hydrogen vehicles logically should solve that. However they're against all cars in general including electric ones. So logically everything seems to just point to them wanting people to be dependent on the state to get around and removing autonomous travel and own nothing.

There's no way a motorcycle will fit into their "walkable city" vision.
Considering how one of the copes is the argument that "cars are loud", motorcycle drivers are incredibly loud. Even if you're used to roadway white noise, nothing like hearing a loud BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP sound as one zooms down the highway going at least 30 mph more than the existing traffic.

I've said this before but they are basically just reinventing things that already exist.
This is made even more hilarious because one of their gimmicks is that all new transportation solutions are just worse versions of trains. Elon Muskrat's hyperloop? Just the subway but with less capacity per person. Ziplines in the air? Just the train but in the air. And so on.

Of course none of these "just a train" arguments account for the actual differences between them and trains.

They also get incredibly mad at Musk’s Vegas tunnel network which is hilarious because it’s essentially just an underground Bus Rapid Transit system.

1684691726373.png

You can't drive your personal Tesla in these tunnels:
1684691777488.png
May as well say that buses are only for rich people because they cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Normies think urbanists are cringe:
1684691833527.png

These people have obviously never been to Vegas, but that doesn't stop them from hating on it:
1684692105072.png
Vegas has a monorail that runs up and down the strip and connects the casinos. You literally can't miss it if you're there:
1684692023464.png

Europeans who have no concept of how hot desert cities are state that covered walkways are cooler than tunnels:
1684692232436.png
Advocating for the murder of people who use the tunnel:
1684692277000.png
Again, this is public transport. The average rider is not rich.

1684692453824.png

Complaints that apply to all forms of public transit:

Again, these tunnels are essentially Bus Rapid Transit.

Musk's tunnels can move more passengers than all but two American light rail stations:
1684692369822.png

Musk's version is better than BRT because it is personal rapid transit. One of them actually realized this:
