Business Target holds 'emergency' meeting over LGBTQ merchandise in some stores to avoid ‘Bud Light situation’ - Some southern locations move Pride displays, apparel away from storefronts

Some southern Target stores were forced by the corporation to move LGBTQ Pride merchandise away from the front of their locations after customer "outrage" to avoid a "Bud Light situation." Many Target locations across the country feature massive June Pride month displays on an annual basis, with items this year ranging from "tuck friendly" bathing suits for transgender people to mugs that say "gender fluid." But the retail juggernaut has been criticized by some conservatives for the displays, with children’s items particularly irking many customers. A Target insider told Fox News Digital that many locations, mostly in rural areas of the south, have relocated Pride sections to avoid the kind of backlash Bud Light has received in recent weeks after using a transgender influencer in a promotional campaign.

A Target insider said there were "emergency" calls on Friday and some managers and district senior directors were told to tamp down the Pride sections immediately. "We were given 36 hours, told to take all of our Pride stuff, the entire section, and move it into a section that’s a third the size. From the front of the store to the back of the store, you can’t have anything on mannequins and no large signage," the Target insider said. "We call our customers ‘guests,’ there is outrage on their part. This year it is just exponentially more than any other year," the Target insider continued. "I think given the current situation with Bud Light, the company is terrified of a Bud Light situation." The insider, who has worked at the retailer for almost two decades, said Target rarely makes such hasty decisions. They said Friday’s call began with roughly 10 minutes on "how to deal with team member safety" because of the amount of backlash the Pride merchandise has generated, noting that Target Asset Protect & Corporate Security teams were present on the call.

"The call was super quick, it was 15 minutes. The first 10 minutes was about how to keep your team safe and not having to advocate for Target. The last five was, ‘Move this to the back, take down the mannequins and remove the signage,’" the insider said, noting that bathing suits have replaced Pride merchandise in front-of-store displays despite Pride month not even starting until June 1. "It’s all under the guise of trying to increase swim sales," the insider said. "Everyone was like, ‘Thank God,’ because we’re all on the front lines dealing with it." Target did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Fox News Digital has confirmed rural Target stores in South Carolina, Arkansas and Georgia are among the locations to move the Pride sections. Most rank-and-file employees were left in the dark, with many not knowing the Pride sections would be moved until they noticed it themselves. Pride merchandise remains prominently displayed at other locations and on the Target website. Target Pride merchandise includes female-style swimsuits that can be used to "tuck" male genitalia. Some products are also labeled as "Thoughtfully fit on multiple body types and gender expressions." Pride merchandise also includes onesies and rompers for newborn babies, a variety of adult clothing with slogans such as "Super Queer," party supplies, home décor, multiple books and a "Grow At Your Own Pace" saucer planter.

Bud Light sales have plummeted since backlash to the infamous partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney continues to haunt the company more than a month since it came to light. The issue began when Mulvaney publicized that the beer company sent packs of Bud Light featuring the influencer’s face as a way to celebrate a full year of "girlhood." Mulvaney is one of many social media influencers Bud Light has tapped to promote the brand. Mulvaney said the cans were her "most prized possession" on Instagram with a post that featured "#budlightpartner." A video then featured Mulvaney in a bathtub drinking a Bud Light beer as part of the campaign. Some consumers mistakenly thought the cans with Mulvaney's face were being sold to the public. "Bud Light learned an important lesson about wading into the culture wars recently. But partnering with Dylan Mulvaney is nothing compared to what Target is doing," conservative pundit and author Bethany Mandel tweeted.

Target Statement on 2023 Pride Collection
MINNEAPOLIS - May 24, 2023

For more than a decade, Target has offered an assortment of products aimed at celebrating Pride Month. Since introducing this year's collection, we've experienced threats impacting our team members' sense of safety and well-being while at work. Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior. Our focus now is on moving forward with our continuing commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community and standing with them as we celebrate Pride Month and throughout the year.

"Looting and crime isn't harmful at all!"

Same lib: "Why are there food deserts and businesses shutting down and not willing to open in some communities!?"

"We should make legislation to FORCE businesses to operate, at their own expense, in crime ridden areas, at a loss."

Same lib: "Only right wingers can be totalitarians! YOU're the fascists!"

Is anyone who shops at target really going to care about fag shit? I've always thought of Target as Walmart for progtards. It's the exact same store with a different coat of paint, and no fishing tackle or guns for sale.

ETA: my Walmart in recent years seems to be infested with somalis and ghetto niggas. Can't confirm if target has the same problem, but I remember it being all whiteys in there when I was in one a couple years ago.

I love this 'the people who matter' shit. I don't follow Moviebob's thread and aside from when his comments pop up here in the Austistic Thunderdome, I don't know much about him except for his fascination with Mario (I liked SMB3 when I was a kid, but let it go man).

Here's the thing, his rants are only slightly more unhinged than what you'll find on the Democraticunderground on any given Sunday. In both cases, anybody who disagrees with the Democrat Dogma (I say that intentionally because it is almost a religion at this point) is a stupid inbred redneck who's incapable of higher thought. If you read the DU, there's always some story about how they 'epically' took down some dumb MAGAT, who was driving a shitty pickup truck, being loud about their politics in a place where politics is typically not welcome (e.g. a store) and they always slink away in humbled (seemingly to the point of suicide judging by the way they tell it). It's straight out of shitthatneverhappened.txt.

I don't doubt that there are some folks who are complaining to the manager, but I don't buy there's been a vast spree of violence breaking out because of a pride section at Target. More than likely, they're like my buddy with the whole Bud Lite thing. You make a joke about it and never buy it again. Same thing is likely happening with Target... my wife and I'll just take our business up the road to Walmart or some fucking place else.

In both the DU and with the shit I see from Mario-boy, is that they really want to unleash violence against the other side. Same with Tranny's too. They believe that the MAGAT's are going to unleash violence and/or a genocide against those who disagree. You know that they are evil because they don't agree, it's not that they have different perspective... they are the enlightened and we are not. I have former best friend (for like 30 years) whom I had to cut off because of this mentality.
The thing is they want violence and are looking for an excuse to commit it... and when the other side are fascists and Nazi's, it's OK to punch first in self defense (we started changing that narrative a decade ago on Tumblr if I remember right(I really miss TumblrinAction)).

The thing is, most of the folks on the right just want to be left alone and don't want controversial shit thrown in my, and more importantly, my children's faces everywhere we go. Why is it so important that every Netflix show have a Tranny front and center.... but only on kid's shows? Why is it so important to have really inappropriate books in school libraries? I was born in the 80's and we didn't have Penthouse Letters in my Jr. High Library (but we have a book detailing how to tongue another man's anus and how to get on Grindr in the school district up the road that's available in their Jr. High). The schools are pushing this shit, the media is pushing this shit and don't get me started on the internet (because I'm about 100% convinced that was a mistake).

Because of all of this, I can't just go back to where I was in the late 90's (which was pretty progressive) and say 'You do you and I'll do me'. Instead, I have to take notice. I have to go to parent/teacher conferences in tandum with my wife, so she can engage the teacher and I can thumb through the class library and see if "I am Jazz" is in my 3rd Grader's class library. I have to watch way too many kid's shows so I can see if it's appropriate (because according to Disney, we can't watch 'Song of the South' with an animated B'rer Rabbit because it's racist, but it's ok to make a cartoon telling 9 year olds that boys might need tampons).

Now, because I'm concerned (and also because I'm willing to raise one unholy hell of a fuss if I have to), I'm not a concerned parent.... I'm genocidal and murderous and as such, Moviebob and the left believe I should be pistol whipped and driven from polite society. The thing I'm starting to realize.... is that there are a lot more folks like me than there are like them.

There may be no guns provided, but there is a bullseye right on the puppy's eyeball to aim at if you go the BYO route... Satanists must be cat people.

How hard is it to just sell product without lecturing us?
I live in one of the whitest cities in the US. I went to Target last Christmas and found the Santas in the seasonal section to be about 75 percent black. (Note: the vast majority of black people in our town are Muslim imports.) No one bought the black Santas because no one wants black Santas. They were put there as part of a ritual to conjure a more Diverse future. Fuck Target. They're run by self-hating whites who'd happily let "youfs" burn their stores down if it made their ESG score go up.
It's your time to shine, Stanley.

the cows are once again chewing their cud about fascists, corporations, and bigots ...
This is why you never, ever pretend to support troons, even when it's performative bullshit like AB did with Bud Light.

Your performative support will never satisfy the insatiable demand for attention that all troons have. Then you will be attacked by not just the troons you pretended to support, but by normies who have had it with those very same troons, the troons you now grovel and perform analingus on.

Fucking hell how is it almost tranny faggot nonce pride month again already? I'm so fucking tired bros.

What's it like realizing that without changing a single belief from your progressive past, you are now literally a Nazi on the level of Hitler?
To be honest with you, I'm scared. When I graduated High School in 1998, there were a certain things that we all agreed on.

1: You could have an unpopular opinion and you didn't deserve to have your life ruined or be physically assaulted as a result.
2: You could debate a political issue and not be declared a Nazi or a racist unless you were blatantly advocating that position (and nobody, aside from a few edgy assholes was advocating for that).
3: You could agree to disagree.
4: We agreed on civil liberties and we disagreed with civil unrest (no matter who the culprit was).

9/11 broke all of that and social media ground the pieces into dust.

The first time I was ever called a white supremacist was when I disagreed with 'Cash for Clunkers'. I argued that it'd hurt the working man because it would force them into buying an automobile that they couldn't afford (because all the serviceable used cars were being destroyed). But it was Obama behind it, so you couldn't question it.

Nazi's were an illusive group that nobody had ever met but did exist (in very small numbers) until about 2012 when the whole "Punch a Nazi" thing came out.
My argument has always been that there shouldn't be physical retribution for speech. Say what you want but 'sticks and stones'.... and who defines what a Nazi is? (because the definition was getting pretty muddied at that point). My best friend at the time argued that 'if you were willing to pay the fine and do the time, you could and should punch whomever you want (to which I responded that the fines aren't high enough because this isn't going anywhere good... (and it didn't)).

Give it a couple of years (not nearly as many as I thought we'd have) and here we are. If you disagree with the Dogma then you're a white supremacist (I've lost very dear friends because I'm a fucking moderate at this point). At the same time, I don't want the schools here in Texas to hang the 10 Commandments in every classroom (and I'm religious, but I just want the schools to teach them math).

I just want my kids to have a better life than I did (which is what my parent's wanted for me and their parent's wanted for them) and I'm really afraid I can't provide that for them.

This is such an amazing brainlet take.
"Hur dur child grooming is happening before our very eyes, the only reason people are mad at the child grooming currently happening is because qanon."
These people have completely normalized child abuse in their own heads, just to own the chuds.
