Especially since it's the most blatant zero-effort thing to do. Release a remake/reboot/reimagining of some cult classic, and change some miniscule detail about one of the characters.
And they always do it to woo very vocal people that aren't going to watch it one way or another.
Wasn't there a Ridley Scott Robin Hood where Maid Marian runs around and kung fu's the shit out of people? To this day I refuse to watch that drivel.

The only thing that makes this funny is how the people that are being played like a fiddle clap their hands and cheer on as it happens, simply cause they can't wrap their head around the fact that large Hollywood companies such as movie corporations just don't give a shit and don't do this out of anything other than cold economic calculations.

PS: As long as they don't touch"The Court Jester" with their shitty remakes I don't give a damn.

And that movie only had one because it was making fun of the fact that the Kevin Costner Robin Hood had one.

The really depressing thing is that Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, is pretty much the *best* example of 'if you must put a black guy into Robin Hood, how not to piss people off.'

1. Have Morgan fucking Freeman do it.

2. Make him a new character and obviously not from around here, so nobody has to ask why the fuck Allen-a-Dale or Midge the Miller's Son is a black guy now.

3. Have other characters initially distrust and take a little time to warm up to him.

Bam. Done. And back in 1991, too.

I see where they're coming from, I really do but... why do they ever fixate on the weaboos for liking this kind of things? This is going to sound SJW as fuck but... anyway, men will be men, and most men like sexy girls, animated or real and, as much as this bothers SJWs, that's the way it goes, there's nothing these girls can do to change that fact. Even Dobby is one of those guys.

It's the japanese culture they have a problem with, characters who are made to sexualize non-sexual things have been going on for decades in anime/manga and it's not going to change just for them.
The only thing I can conclude is that, I love when they complain about things happening in Japan because they are really meaningless to that country and culture, at least japanese media know not to take the bait and change their media the way it's happening in America with making all characters suddenly black/women/lesbians/trans/muslim or censor the hell out of their outfits just to fill in those sweet SJW points.
Even though they were able to censor some videogame girls outfits but, as far as I know, it's only for the american releases, of course...

Anyway, have this animated Dobby to stay on the subject.

Japan seems to have a better understanding of their target audiences, for male targeted shows they have stuff like Dobby posted and for female targeted shows they have scenes like:
