It looks like a fullbody NFT.Saw this on Twitter. Surprised it wasn't fatter. Yours for a mere $80. (I wonder what AI would draw if I suggested "negress demon in combat boots with pink hair?" And could I sell it for $80?)

Isn't that what adoptables are? Proto-NFTs?It looks like a fullbody NFT.
Except adoptables you actually own the character and have rights to them. It's already a better deal compared to 95% of NFTs.Isn't that what adoptables are? Proto-NFTs?
I thought that WAS what NFTs were. How is it different?Except adoptables you actually own the character and have rights to them. It's already a better deal compared to 95% of NFTs.
With NFTs all you own is the hyperlink/receipt to the image. You might have bought the rights to use it but that only lasts if you continue owning that receipt. If someone hacks your account and takes all your apes you're shit out of luck. It's really, really dumb.I thought that WAS what NFTs were. How is it different?
Here's a mati segment that explains itI thought that WAS what NFTs were. How is it different?
Hate to say this, but ive seen really good adopts that deserve a $80 price tag than this one.. The design is lacking and it feels like it has been thrown a bunch of highlighter colors.Saw this on Twitter. Surprised it wasn't fatter. Yours for a mere $80. Yes I understand the basics of NFTs, what that doesn't answer is how it's different from this "adoption." So far all you've really explained is that the adoption receipt is public and the NFT receipt is a secure key code. Here's a mati segment that explains it
Adoptables run a lot more on the honor system than NFTs, you use regular money to buy them, and they aren't notorious for scams. Adopt an ape, adopt a furfag - it all just looks like claiming ownership of a jpeg.
Can't I draw an adoptable without paying for it? Better yet, why don't I just make my own character to own? Who are these for? What do you get out of buying it?Adoptables run a lot more on the honor system than NFTs, you use regular money to buy them, and they aren't notorious for scams. That's the main difference.
It is, but the majority of NFTs don't have the commercial rights attached to the design that's on the jpeg is the difference.Adopt an ape, adopt a furfag - it all just looks like claiming ownership of a jpeg.
An adoptable isn't a style, well there's a whole deep dark depth of adoptable species and shit but that's a whole different level of insanity. Some people buy the adoptables because they're bad at design and want to use them for visuals for a novel or RP or whatever. Other people essentially treat them like Pokemon cards. Can't I draw an adoptable without paying for it? Better yet, why don't I just make my own character to own? Who are these for? What do you get out of buying it?
Just steal it. I'm sure no one will notice. Some people buy the adoptables because they're bad at design and want to use them for visuals for a novel or RP or whatever.
The drama when someone's adopt is "stolen" is fucking hilarious. If you go deep enough on DeviantArt you'll find 12 year olds having CAPS LOCK TODDLER FIGHTS about who stole whose character and how XYZ is a blatant ripoff, etc.Just steal it. I'm sure no one will notice.
Ok so in practical matters there's no difference, it's all about their social perception. Though I'm not sure how much the honor system is less prone to scams because...Adoptables run a lot more on the honor system than NFTs, you use regular money to buy them, and they aren't notorious for scams. That's the main difference.
Ah yeah - there it is. Exactly what I would expect of such a system. That does sound hilarious. The drama when someone's adopt is "stolen" is fucking hilarious. If you go deep enough on DeviantArt you'll find 12 year olds having CAPS LOCK TODDLER FIGHTS about who stole whose character and how XYZ is a blatant ripoff, etc.
I honestly wonder how long until that's the case though. (assuming someone hasn't already done commercial rights on an NFT somewhere)It is, but the majority of NFTs don't have the commercial rights attached to the design that's on the jpeg is the difference.
Can you provide examples? Most of the ones I see are kind of crap and seem to be the "shovelware" of art.Hate to say this, but ive seen really good adopts that deserve a $80 price tag than this one.. The design is lacking and it feels like it has been thrown a bunch of highlighter colors.
Asking the same questions I've had for years. Can't I draw an adoptable without paying for it? Better yet, why don't I just make my own character to own? Who are these for? What do you get out of buying it?
I think the Bored Apes are, probably where the confusion comes from since they're the biggest.I honestly wonder how long until that's the case though. (assuming someone hasn't already done commercial rights on an NFT somewhere)
its implying link and zelda are one of the "fluids" or whatever, aka those fuckers who believe they can just change their gender to whatever they please, whenever they pleaseWhat the fuck does this mean. just ship a straight couple like a normal person i wish gendies didnt know about this game

You just inspired me to troll the shit out of DeviantArt. Thank you.The drama when someone's adopt is "stolen" is fucking hilarious. If you go deep enough on DeviantArt you'll find 12 year olds having CAPS LOCK TODDLER FIGHTS about who stole whose character and how XYZ is a blatant ripoff, etc.
