It's entirely possible for a boyfriend and girlfriend to communicate through these kinds of apps if they don't live together, but I think it is unlikely a married couple would have these kinds of conversations on these apps over face-to-face when they allegedly live together. I'll be generous and say that, as far as I know, we don't know what Guts did for a living - if he is real then he could do a job that keeps him away for long periods of time and this is a simpler way to communicate than texting. But even then, I don't buy that - what kind of job keeps someone away for a long time but also allows someone to sit on social media all day?
