Can relate. I get accused of being all kinds of things based on incredibly limited knowledge on stances of mine that the other person knows about (or thinks they know about). I voice one even remotely conservative fact or opinion, I must be an ultra alt-righter way to the right. I voice even one remotely "liberal" fact or opinion, I must be a third wave feminist all the way to the left. I voice any fact or opinion that doesn't align with the perceptions of someone of any religion, suddenly I must be a Reddit atheist. I voice any fact or opinion in support of anything that any religion aligns with, and I must be some kind of zealot. Anything between or combining facts or views construed as being right and left, and people will accuse me of being whatever will suit their narrative. Fuck, people from all over the political spectrum assume I'm an ultra lefty just because I "dress goth", for pity's sake; then act shocked when I say I hate Commiefornia.
This is why I leave my deep conversations for the random homeless and drug addicts. I can have something more meaningful unironically.

Don't even get me wrong you're right but this sports team behavior has long existed since the Fall of the Roman Empire. The Byzantine Empire (Basically the East Romans and one of the most successful Christian empires) had this exact example in place. Political factions that took their colors from the hippodrome chariot racers. Most notably the Greens and Blues where the Greens represented Monophysitism and the lower classes; the Blues, orthodoxy and the upper classes. Personally I'll continue to blame the largely inbred and power-hungry ascendant Jews.

I loved learning about all those guys in school but it grinds my gears that a lot of people don't remember much about them. I usually relive the good days by watching Dovahhatty's videos on the East Romans because I can only be entertained if Chads and Virgins are involved in a creative video.
Because they think being "autistic" is this quirky little thing, and that some little quiz tells them they're autistic. Not going to a battery of doctors and psychologists and having a shitload of tests done on you at a young age to see if you've actually got the 'tism. And they have no idea what actually having autism looks like, or how much it can impede a normal life.
On the same note with the eco-unfriendly-friendliness, I have to give a mild power level. I work in a laboratory that deals with GMOs and as such it's subject to very strict disposal rules. Every day TONS of single use plastic packaging and equipment is used and sent for autoclaving and incineration, in addition to the large quantities of damaging chemicals that require god knows what sort of processing for disposal. Power hungry machines run constantly, even when not in use.
I've experience the same thing. Someone in a union job is convinced I'm an ultra-conservative Republican. Meanwhile, conservatives think I'm liberal given my opinions on other limited topics. I simply chuckle and enjoy both sides trying to pigeonhole me on very limited information.
My observation is that it allows them to declare themselves "neurodivergent" which means (in their minds) they can blame any lack of personal responsibility or bad behavior on having the 'tism - never mind that there are people who legitimately have Autism that still manage to be functional, respectable members of society.
Edit to add: I've posted a similar gripe elsewhere. There is a podcast related to a hobby of mine that I'll listen to when time permits. During the summer of 2020, the host thought it was a good idea to let his guest sperg out about driving while black and white privilege - topics that have nothing to do with the hobby or usual subject/topics that get discussed. Needless to say, I didn't listen to that episode for more than five minutes tops.
It's unironically this. They want to be able to do whatever they want whenever they want without facing any consequences. Slight PL, but I recently fired someone who tried to use this exact same excuse at my store.
This is especially retarded to use as an excuse, as autistic people (at least the high functioning ones) tend to be more heavily adherent to rules and routine.
