It's a decent idea, but imo it's bogged down by almost all the fusions using the same few bases (alongside having subpar designs in general, but that's a given for these games), shitty graphics, lack of originality outside of the slight changes to the type system and (very) bad writing
Devs are also pretentious faggots who're shilling how this is supposed to be the "more mature" version of Pokemon constantly in interviews.
It's par for the course at this point but still very annoying. Did not give these people my money.

This is probably one of the better games in this genre filled with dogshit, but I still wouldn't call it good. Probably like a 7/10 at best. Lower the score by like 2 notches at minimum if you aren't a champagne socialist like the devs are (worth noting that they will constantly remind you of this fact in-game) or if you can't stand listening to them.

Also it has day-1 cosmetic DLC so it's an automatic 0/10 regardless lol.

I honestly never heard of of the company's other work until I was very familiar with Palworld.
I think the surprise of "Pokémon with guns," which was once just an unrelated meme, got many people talking and ended up dominating discussions. People are just ignorant of how the company dropped other projects.
Then again, some are still talking about Craftopia in the Palword comments.

I'd seen the reaction to gen 8 in other communities prior and it gave me such a bad taste that I decided I'd rather stand that awful place than hang around zombies any longer

it's observation, and blatantly obvious if you're somewhat cynical
I personally doubt Arceus was a "prototype" since the two games were almost certainly developed congruently (considering their release periods, knowing how GF's development cycle tends to work, and the fact that SV doesn't carry many features over from Arceus- and those that it does seem hastily thrown-in at best instead of properly integrated), but it's a common sentiment elsewhere
