There's been discussion on and off about whether Russ has a "type" of woman he fixates on and harasses. Some have argued he doesn't, given the variety in ethnicities, hair colour etc of his victims, others have said he likes slutty or skinny women, but not all of his targets are slutty or skinny by any means. I was having a bit of a schmoke last night and the answer occurred to me. All the women Russ harasses so have something in common:
They earn a living in all or in part due to their looks. His targets include prostitutes, models, camwhores, strippers, pop singers, actresses and cheerleaders, all careers where being attractive to men ranges from a big bonus to being absolutely essential.
Russ doesn't target women in other careers who just happen to be good-looking, he wants women whose success is directly tied to their looks. In particular he goes after women who are lusted after by other men, or who he thinks other men find attractive. That's why there is such a wide range of body types, ethnicity and such, he'll lust after surgically-altered plastic barbie-doll whores just as much as girl-next-door types, it seems the details of how these women actually look isn't really important, what is important is that other men find them attractive and that is important for their careers.
So why might this be, and what does it say about the inner workings of what passes for Russ' mind?
Well it seems to me that Russ isn't motivated by whether he personally finds the women he harasses attractive. There's no way all those women are his "type" physically. He doesn't seem to have any physical preferences at all. Russ being physically attracted to them is much less important than other men being physically attracted to them. The fact that these women make their careers (or have substantial social media followings) that are dependent on their looks is objective evidence to Russ that other men like these women, which seems to be his key criterion. So therefore we can conclude that:
Russ' choice of victims is entirely motivated by jealousy.
Other men have access to these women (even for women like Taylor Swift who are very clearly not sexually available, Russ' interactions with them makes it very clear he thinks they are), and that makes Russ fucking seethe, as we see from his reactions whenever one of these instathots takes a picture with their partner. It's not enough for Russ to "win" and have an attractive partner. Other men have to lose, which is why he goes after women whose careers involve being found attractive by other men.
This also explains why he keeps spamming ring emojis at them and blabs on about marrying them, despite otherwise showing no desire to actually have a family or settled lifestyle. For Russ, the purpose of marrying women is to "take them off the market" and have their attractiveness all to himself, and therefore make other men jealous. An attractive woman who isn't well-known wouldn't fulfil that criteria for Russ, he wouldn't be denying them to other men, so he doesn't stalk or harass such people.
Russ wants other men to be jealous of him, just as he feels jealous of other men being in relationships with women he wants. I don't think Russ cares about the actual woman all that much, that's of secondary importance to his inferiority complex against other men. If the Dimensional Merge happens and Russ somehow bags himself a cheerleader or instathot, there is no doubt he would be controlling and possessive and would demand they give up their careers for him, but I don't think he would stop them posting pictures of themselves entirely. I think he would only let them post pictures with him draped over them. This isn't about them, this is about Russ and wanting other men to wish they were him. His narcissism and entitlement complex fuel this seething jealousy. He doesn't want justice for the disabled, he doesn't want equality, he wants to come out on top and rub his conquest in Chad's (actually functional) face.

I think he would only let them post pictures with him draped over them. This isn't about them, this is about Russ and wanting other men to wish they were him. His narcissism and entitlement complex fuel this seething jealousy.
