Have you seen Ukraine support threads? Not only here but elsewhere, often make the feature image a disembowled or beheaded Russian soldier. They are like some primitive African tribe hooting and dancing around the fire drinking from the skulls of their enemies.

The moment the Selective Service announces a draft they will immediately claim they're pacifists and never wanted this war to begin with. Or they'll flee to another country, just like one of the biggest chickenhawks on KF did.

That's one of the things I find kinda funny when people talk about the "crew survivability of western vehicles." Their survivability is pretty much on par with modern vehicles produced anywhere else in the world, and is arguably worse in a lot of ways since most of them weren't built with the thought that if your vehicle becomes inoperable in the field, your chance of becoming a casualty goes up tremendously.
If you really examine this video, it seems highly probable that the knocked-out Bradleys were knocked out by anti-personnel mines and not AT mines. This means that while the crew was protected from the blast, they still had to bail out in the middle of a minefield that was almost certainly in range of Russian indirect fire. It's like how lazer nig was chimping out on twatter about most of the western vehicles not being burning wrecks and the crews not dying on the spot as though it was some kind of crowning achievement. Never mind the fact that they almost all got captured or killed shortly afterwards, and the only reason their western vehicles weren't turned completely into scrap metal was because the Russians stopped shelling after they became inoperable. Ultimately, they got knocked out by near misses from artillery. Meanwhile you see videos of T-90 tanks taking multiple glancing hits from artillery and still continuing to operate, which of course also means the crews survived.

Heinlein really nailed it in Starship Troopers; only those who do Federal Service can become full citizens. I'd modify it to restrict eligibility for full citizenship to individuals who have completed service in the Armed Forces infantry. While this may also have pitfalls it would be better than what we have now.
Most of the infantry soldiers I know are pretty wary of war as the go-to method of settling disputes between nations. Civilians who consider themselves immune to the consequences of war seem to be its biggest proponents.
Just a thought.

I saw a headline of a news report today that stated that Russia was "Disarming" Wagner, which I believe meant they were taking away some of their heavier equipment (Which I assumed the RFU "loaned" them). Not sure if this is actually what's happening, given how prone to falsehood the BBC are.

They themselves admit they ignored 5,400 on Ukrainian side based on what they describe as "misuse" of power and resulting in "arbitrary deprivations of liberty".
