I think he killed himself because he couldn't bear the shame of his info being on kiwi farms and because he didn't like he volatility of his marriage. But I have no way of knowing for sure why he did it. But I believe he loved Melinda a lot, but that the drama of his life was too much for him to handle. Too much emotional ups and downs it was too much for him to bear.

I don't think he did it in front of the kids. But maybe he did it in front of her not to spite her necessarily but to show her that he did in fact kill himself and he wasn't murdered. Like if someone just dies and you didn't witness it you might think of wild theories to try and make sense of it. So to prevent her from making up wild theories about his death he did it so she would see and know what really happened to him. many people can't bear the thought of not knowing the truth about what happened to their loved one. So if she witnessed it, she would know. That's the best I can say of why he would do it in front of her. Or maybe he did it in front of her because part of him was hoping she would convince him to stop. But it is possible he did it for far more malicious reasons but no need to assume that is the case. I have seen love hate relationships before, and the fact is no one kills themselves because of a loved one unless they deeply loved them. The pain of the relationship being so strong to kill yourself over it, it can only be because you had such strong feelings for that person. Someone that means nothing to you would not drive you to suicide. So in any case, he clearly loved her. I think he was very cruel and wrong to do what he did, but at the same time, he was clearly suffering and mentally distressed and he probably felt trapped in his life and that it was the only way out. I feel really bad for him. But at the end of the day, the one mainly responsible for one's own suicide is themselves. I know for myself I will never kill myself because I can always find something worth living for. you can do nothing to me to make me want to die. except perhaps subjecting me to brutal physical torture every day then maybe i'd want to die. otherwise, I will always find the will to live.
Don't you know the streisand effect i'm sure you do. Basically someone can do something and unbeknownst to them be contributing to the very thing they are wanting to not happen. and then afterwards realize it was a mistake. that's why he would always delete the videos afterwards because he regretted engaging. but then he would get angry at you guys again and make another video. but then afterwards regret. people's state of mind are often very reactive and don't fully think through and process things until after they've done things. people don't always act rationally in the heat of the moment.

Did she somewhere specifically that her kids were there to witness it? if so, then I assume she's telling the truth. I only said that because I didn't recall her ever actually saying that her kids saw it but maybe you saw her say it somewhere. You guys look at her stuff more than me so its certainly possible you know more about what she said than me.

Other Mel historians will have to correct me if she ever specifically stated her children were present for the event, but it took Mel over a day to start cleaning up the mess, it'd be unlikely they didn't hear the gunshot (shots with silencers are still loud) and she had passed out for some time.
