I suspect you saw what you wanted to see.@Balalaika Z Bree I saw you agreeing with Holocuast denial in another thread. Don't know how seriously I would take your moralzing after that. Is that a normal thing for trad-caths to do, ignore genocide of Jews? lol Like not pharisees, but just people from the line of David. You can take your high horse about shitting on Luther and other denominations and screw off. lol
Edit: Yes, I know about Lutehr's commentary on Jews, but "trad-caths" love hypocrisy. lol
Quote what I wrote, or at least challenge what I said about the heretics lol.
I am a sinner, by being Catholic I follow Sacred Tradition, we are all hypocrites at times, certainly we all sin and fall short.
Except the quality translations translate directly from the Hebrew and Greek, with some indirect translations favoured, but only when they adhere to the original meaning (either words or ideas, or a mix of both as decided by the translators).Given wild demographic changes in the western world change and even bastardise English language, Latin is spoken only by scholars. You'd be surprised how quickly meanings change after translating from Latin to English to Slavic, Finno-Ugric language groups, french and German.
It would be if we didn't have the Dead Sea Scrolls and very ancient Hebrew translations of the Old Testament text into Greek like the Septuagint families of texts, entire New Testament texts written in the Greek from the first few centuries of the Church which was probably the original language of most, if not all, of it. We have but fragments of the earliest copies as most were burnt or rotted away with time. The Pope is entitled to personal opinions, and many of those he shares are anything but "progressive". Have you heard of his comments on how abortion is like hiring a hitman? It's quite a hodgepodge and it's like playing game of broken telephone.
Since Vatican and Italy aren't part of Anglosphere, word or surprisingly pro immigration and progressive pope's dictates.
I am Catholic, the governments of the EU and beyond have open border policies for whatever reasons. In the current great apostasy away from religion, with the electing of those who oppose the Church do you genuinely think the politicians listen to the holy father? Maybe in Poland...From I could gather you're Catholic yourself due to lack of criticism of the pope, Vatican and Catholicism in general.
Catholic church especially Vatican let barbarians through the gates, leading to desecrating of churches, graveyards to the Notre Dame burning down.
The Church is in a state alright. It's almost as bad as the middle ages, when lust for money and sexual impropriety destroyed many vocations and entire countries used the corruption as justification for the heresies that lead to the Protestant movement. If you lived anywhere near EU, you could see how diluted and the state of Catholic church itself. All branches of Catholics answer to Vatican and follow their orders.
Organized Christianity forgot Acts 5:29
No man is appointed by god, those men were appointed by other men, again politics
Acts 5:29 does not undo or modify Matthew 16:18: which some translate as "You are rock, and on this rock I will build my church....". https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=matthew16:18&version=RSVCE Note the Greek word for rock is feminine, so it would be akin to naming somebody "Rocky" as opposed to calling a man "Rockietta". Doesn't really work in English where only some words are gendered (waiter / waitress etc.).
When Jesus gives Saint Peter the keys it is making him and by extension his office the supreme authority in the King's absence. Hence we call the man on the Seat of Saint Peter the Vicar of Christ.
