A lot of these events tend lose money as we've seen plenty end up in very serious lawsuits like the Social Gloves thing that had a lot of the same problems but didn't even pay the fighters. However, often times the organizers are also padding their pockets before reporting the earnings so it's probably a mix of both there not being enough to be actually profitable and the number being forced further into the red by paying out faggots first.
