Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

Dogs don't live fucking 80 years. If you get this problem under control, it will resolve itself just like how 10 years ago shelters weren't full of pitbulls.

Yeah, that may work in the LARP you have running in your head, but try running on that edgy bullshit when you try to change the law or public perception in a meaningful way that actually solves the problems surrounding pitbulls. A pitbull puppy will latch on and attack its own littermate and not release when the puppy is yelping in pain. Normal dogs release.
The pitbull puppies just wag their tail and keep destroying. A normal puppy does not.

But I agree that a normal dog will wag their tail after killing normal prey. A pitbull will harm regardless of whether you're playing or not, and wag its tail all the way. A normal dog stops wagging their tail when they harm their playmates.

I love dogs. I have a great border collie, wonderful dog. Pitbulls however, are only dogs in the technical sense. They don't act like dogs.

I had a pitbull once. She was sweet and playful as can be. Around humans.
Whenever another dog was in sight it was like a switch flicked in her brain. Taking her on walks was a pain because I had to hold her until she calmed down. Fucker saw any other animals and the only thing on her mind was murder. If someone would have shot her I'd be sad but I'd also understand.

So it might be as simple as the dog being the runt of the litter and therefore having medical problems leading to high vet bills later, or it might be a dog with aggression problems that bites someone and boom, you're on the hook for a lawsuit.

Obviously there are some exceptions. If you know a good breeder and they're giving it to you as a favor, that's different, but in many cases, those dogs are being given away for a reason. Usually because the owner doesn't care about them.

My neighbor got a "free dog" a few years ago and it's got so many health problems that they spend upwards of 200 a month on special dog food (because it got bladder stones twice which meant it pissed uncontrollably and there was blood in it) not counting the surgeries to get them removed, pain medication because it has early arthritis, and ear cream because it has issues with getting infections in the ear.

Dog's ripping apart cars is not too crazy actually. A lot of those skirting and side panels are fastened in place using plastic connectors and stuff.
They're not gonna yank an alternator loose or anything, but they can do some significant damage to the outer parts.

What is telling is just how quickly and how ferocious the shitbull is at doing this compared to regular dogs.
