Fox News have lost a lot of influence with a certain right-wing populist demographic during the last few years, plus most likely Murdoch does not want to play ball anymore. That's why Tucker's "credibility" in the eyes of that demographic had to be refreshed, by moving him to a different platform. Conveniently enough, it's one that is ran by a DoD contractor, Elon Musk. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, comes from a duck family, gets paid by ducks, is friends with Hunter Biden's duck, and associates with other ducks, it is very likely that it is also a duck.

As for how the CIA and the DoD would profit from it, as I said before, they need more meat for the war machine. War with China is coming soon, and the diversity hires currently populating America's army are not up to the task, as witnessed by their abysmal performance in Ukraine and Afghanistan.

Edit: Also, for the most part the CIA doesn't care about Tucker "discrediting" them on TV because they know that people who listen to Tucker don't have a high opinion of the CIA anyway. Tucker hasn't pushed for war with China despite identifying them as an economic and diplomatic threat. You're not understanding how less sophisticated criminals launder money. Tate's asking for the money because it's his. When you're not paying taxes, you have to make sure your earnings aren't hitting any single account where the Man can see it and get it. You want to spread your cash out over different, trusted ways to store it- including people whom you have leverage over. That's the main purpose of lieutenants or madams.
