this is a serious request on asking you retards on what anime(s) you like. i enjoyed watching parasyte and my experience with anime is watching naruto and a few episodes of dragon ball z.

yes i know boku no pico, corey in the house, and all the other faggot animes you want to recommend. im bored of watching IRL movies so i want to watch fun anime that i can lose my sense of reality

High School DxD is the classic ecchi, with well developed and unique characters
Blood Brigade Battlefront is hilarious
Kill la Kill is over the top action with hilarious insanity
Little Witch Academy is similar but with a really stupid main character
BNA (Brand New Animal) is same vibe as it's also from Studio Trigger
Kiznaiver has seven friends (plus a suicidal one) have their pain distributed
Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt was dubbed with new lines that make it hilarious
...basically anything from Trigger Studios is guarenteed to be batshit crazy and hilarious.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a classic
Steins;Gate is a strong time travel story, with prequal and sequal series

I haven't seen a lot of anime but by far the most enjoyable one was Naoki Urasawa's "Monster", a kind of crime thriller tackling some interesting moral/philosophical questions, most centrally "Do you bear some responsibility for the deeds of those whose lives you saved". It really doesn't "need" anime/manga as a medium but would work just as well as a normal tv show, book or western comic book.

It's around 70 episodes (24 hours) but seems to lack filler almost entirely (iirc episode 13 was a bit superfluous) and has no weird ...anime behavior in it as far as I can recall. It is the one anime I can recommend to just about anyone in the same way I'd recommend a good thriller novel.

On the flipside, there's "Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni", which left me with a strange feeling of both being a huge fan and utterly hating it. It is approximately 15 minutes of seemingly pointless, slice of life high school weeb shit with all the retarded anime tropes and very little interesting content, followed by 5 minutes of horrific, unexpected and intriguing plot developments which instantly made me want to put in the next episode to figure out what the fuck was going on - prompting another 15 minutes of watching shitty slice of life high school anime. I'd recommend watching the first arc of about 4 episodes nonetheless, just because it has a very interesting tonal incongruence.

Oshi no ko is the big anime of the season so I'd certainly recommend that.
The fate series is always a good recommendation if you want to go down a rabbit hole.
Azumanga Daioh is good for something sweet and laid-back.
Black Lagoon is good and gritty action
Demon Slayer has had excellent animation and also has an actual ending too unlike most battle manga.
And finally, Gundam is always good if you want a war story.

Appleseed OVA (1988 )
Akira (1988 )
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984)
Ninja Scroll (1993)

Anime series go on too fucking long 99% of the time. Best anime are 80s to 90s movies that get to the point. I know Nausicaä is an outlier in terms of mood but it has a special nostalgia factor for me.

Black Lagoon: Great crime series with lots of action and a fantastic dub.
Girls Last Tour: Comfy slice of life show about two girls exploring the post apocalypse.
Tanya the Evil: A Japanese man dies and gets into an argument with God. He reincarnated as a girl in an early 1900s Europe and goes on to join the German Army.
Girls Und Panzer: A cute girls doing cute things show about tankery as a girls high-school sport. It's basicly a love letter to WW2 and tank combat.

Objective KF-approved anime list:
  1. Hellsing – gothic horror vampire kino. The original series has a banger jazzy soundtrack but the story goes off the rails halfway through due to being made while the manga was still ongoing. The Hellsing Ultimate OVA series is more faithful to the manga, has wonderful animation and the main villains are much more interesting than what the OG series had.
  2. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - no explanation needed. Part 5 and 6 are peak, 2babbies need not apply.
  3. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - the greatest, most batshit insane mecha story ever conceived. Nothing can top this.
  4. Legend of Galactic Heroes - space opera kino, basically Star Wars if it was written by Sons of Liberty-era Kojima.
  5. Berserk/Fist of the North Star/Dragon Ball - action OGs. Again, no further explanation needed.
Honorable mentions: seconding Black Lagoon, Monster, Cowboy Bebop. I can also personally recommend Drifters (the only good isekai, by same author as Hellsing, but it's unfinished because he's a notoriously lazy nig).

I'm more of a manga enjoyer, but there are many anime I did enjoy
Baccano!
Card Captor Sakura
Cats Eye
City Hunter (be warned the seasons are pretty large in episodes)
Cowboy Bebop
Jojo Bizarre Adventure (the 1993 OVA)
Jin-Roh - The Wolf Brigade (single movie)
Girls und Panzer (original season + Das Finale)
GTO - great teacher Onizuka (last episodes & ending differs from the manga run but still worth a watch)
Gunsmith Cats (short 3-episodes long OVA)
Memories
Metropolis
Nadia and the Secret of Blue Water
Noir
Plastic Little (single-episode OVA)
REDLINE (single movie)
Record of Lodoss War (the OVA)
Riding Bean (same universe as Gunsmith Cats)
Space Battleship Yamato 2199
Spice & the Wolf
Steamboy (single movie)
Violet Evergarden
Weathering with You (single movie)
You're Under Arrest (OVA)
especially in the /m/echa category:
Armored Trooper VOTOMS (main season is 52 episodes long, followed by the much shorter OVA spin-offs/prequels/sequels)
Dai-Guard
Eureka Seven
Expelled from Paradise (single movie)
Getter Robo Armageddon
Giant Robo -The Day the Earth Stood Still-
Gun x Sword
Gunbuster -Top wo Nerae!-
Mazinkaiser OVA
SDF Macross & Macross 7
Megazone 23 (three movie-long episodes that have large disparities in artstyles between each other)
Mobile Suit Gundam Universal Century (which starts with 0079, followed by spin-offs "0080 War in the Pocket", "The 08th MS Team", "0083 Stardust Memory" before the other mainline serie "Mobile Suit Z Gundam". Quite time-consuming to get through them all but definitively worth it)
Mobile Fighter G Gundam (completely different universe - lots of dumb fun)
Patlabor (there is an OVA "Mobile Police Early Days" before committing into the longer TV serie)
RahXephon
The Big O
