Adding a personal observation here, I'm no expert on human behavior.
I've interacted with a few people in my personal life that abuse pills and cause delusional drama between themselves and others. Whenever they are being hostile to people to "knock them down a few pegs" that's exactly how they laugh.
He's also being super nice to Josh, I guess Ralph wants him to keep agreeing?

Ralph lost every connection, he is desperately trying to fix bridges, he is doing it with Josh, he is using Masterson to do it with Rekieta, he even wanted Jim and Warski to talk to him.
