I don't want to PL, but I have lived below the poverty line. I am living above the govenment mandated poverty line at the moment. I believe if there is an extreme upset. I'm done. It's not some "oh you just aren't hardheaded enough" I know myself, I will have to kill myself if theres a major upset. I will just starve to death otherwise.

As a childless guy deep into middle age with no real assets, yeah, I'm chuckmeat in that scenario.

That said, I do have extended family and some skills with gardening and raising chickens. If the collapse is more like a frog boiling, I may survive it. As I figure most will. Most civilization collapses in history are over generations instead of all at once.

While a lot of people whine about the end is near, tens of millions of Americans are doing very well; and so are hundreds of millions world wide. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the world will go on from strength to strength, the world will not collapse and life will go on.

Realistically, you've got to take the reality of the current global situation into context and view the production, the wealth and the challenges aren't so bad. I think the entire period between 1900 and 1950 was much worse for average people, and if you actually look at what the average person had between 1950 and 1985 it also wasn't that great.

It is fair to say that if one parks their emotion aside and actually looks at the stats of wealth, poverty, the general ability to afford food and the like and what the average family simply had throughout the last century, that most Americans have it pretty good. There is no denying that "bad things" happen, but it is also true that it was happening before but they didn't display it all over TV and the Internet all the time so it wasn't "in your face" all the time either.

Plan for the world to go on and build for yourself and your family if you have one. Planning for the end of the world is a mugs game. I'm not saying there are not challenges for society or that you should be ecstatic with your government, but realize the government was never a glorious thing, never had been and that wealth was always for a few, but that the average person was getting a little more each generation.

Most of our grandparents have stories of the hours they worked, and the types of jobs they did to scrounge up enough for the mortgage and food on the table and they were smart people but simply put, opportunities were hard to get.

Most of you've said is factually true, however you are not factoring in direction in regards to peoples mindsets. If you were born into poverty, with no rights then having anything at all is a huge win. Conversely, if you were born into comfort and it all starts falling apart then that fucks your mind. So yes, life in 1900 was a lot harder than it is today, but life today is harder than it was 20 years ago and is only getting worse.

There is something truly tragic about being on a sinking ship. That's how I feel about it.

And that is the point, the mindset. But this mindset is a creation because it serves the purposes of both political parties to drum up disaffection for the purpose of changing administrations. Factually, given the sea of possible actions by administrations, there are marginal differences between both over the last 24 years with some outlying shocker decisions, but by and large, it is much the same stuff with a twist on things. Taxes hasn't change much. Handouts pretty much the same. debt climbing the same, inflation, blah blah blah.

The primary driver of economics in an established regulatory environment is by and large the result of private corporations and how they enact upon the system. The more money that is printed, the more is accumulated at the top so it suits any administration to print away. And they both have.

All I am saying is that there is actually paths forward and happiness is not contingent upon who is in charge. There are happy people globally in the most stifled economies and in every country so there is a means to the end, if that end is happiness.

If your mindset will revolve around having a leader and congress in power that makes decisions you'd make and goes the direction you'd prefer, then you will only know disappointment; and if you find one day satisfaction in their choices then know you've been hoodwinked and aren't seeing the bigger picture.

A lot of it is due to people ordering shit online like Amazon. It has created a mass of insufferable retards who expect everything in life to be as simple as ordering off an app. You can order a bunch of shit off Amazon because some Amazon warehouse somewhere in the world has the Funko Pop and Bad Dragon dildo you want in stock. A big box retailer is a lot smaller and far less likely to have very niche goods. People no longer understand this.

Most people have. Remember Al Gore claiming we’d have an order of magnitude more hurricanes by 2017? We didn’t of course and his movie, coincidentally released in 2017, bombed. People are pretty up to speed on watermelon politics, especially as any “green” initiative advances any and all far left agendas too. A lot of people are now pushing back hard against renewable energy growth and it’s no longer the NIMBY crowd.

Or they DO give you the 40, but as a catch they also implement something called "Mandatory Overtime", in which you're not allowed to leave until they make their numbers. This is especialy common in office jobs.

NORMALLY, each department in the office is supposed to have a steady evenly distributed workflow that makes the chain of operations run smoothly. However, once in a while (or almost all the time if you're short-handed) you'll have a back-up in a specific department that will effect all the other ones, and if you're at the tail-end of the line, you're just completely fucked, and sitting at your desk with your thumbs up your ass until the other department gives you the shit you were supposed to get hours ago.

Example: Working for an IME (Independant Medical Examiner) company in which the chain is...
  • Insurance company calls/emails to give you a case. This is handled by a customer support team whom is also in charge of calling the doctors to make the appointments.
  • Case has to be entered into the system. This is handled by a team called "posting", as they also need to learn the various codes for the system, and depending on No-Fault or Workers-Comp, the codes are different.
  • The person (or lawyers for said person) that got into the accident then need to be called to let them know of the appointment. This is handled by another team that's similar to customer support, except they ONLY deal with the person that is claiming injuries and not the insurance companies.
  • The doctor letters must then be created. This tells the doctor what parts of the body to examine or whatever issues the person is claiming. Everything else is omitted.
  • The doctor letters then get sent to the Medcial Records department in which they go through the medical records the insurance company sends them and remove all the unwanted junk to make the stack look all nice and pretty for the doctor. They then package up everything and mail them off.
What will wind up happening in something like this is that one particular insurance company will have a FUCK-TON more cases to send in than other insurance companies (e.g. Progressive insurance / Country-Wide Insurance being the biggest two with something like Met-Life not being as big). Posting might only have 2 people entering in the cases and even if one of the supervisors jump in, it still wouldn't cut down the time. Then by the time 4:30pm shows up, if you're in the letter creating department, you'll wind up having a 6:30pm/7pm kind of night making sure all those letters are created and given to Medical Records, which have fucked off before you because mail can't be sent past like 4:30pm / 5pm, so they will make those letters priority to make sure the post office delivers them first thing before the others.

The model they used only has data starting in 1979 and the "researchers" had the gall to pretend it would be accurate to 125k years. It didn't even cover the heatwaves of the early 1970's, or the ones in the 1920's and 1930's, but it is "da Soyence™️" and they honestly believe it. The WaPo comment section was full of NPCs who either were talking shit about "muh RepubliKKKans" who aren't doing enough, doomposting about how everyone is dying or making fun of "cultists" who don't believe it because they saw snow on the ground this year. Not a single person questioned the obvious garbage science, or more likely not a single criticism of the data was allowed to be brought up.

Retailers have just stopped stocking things, too. Back in the 1990s, I could find parts for the Atari 2600 at hobby electronics stores. Not too long ago, I went to Office Depot, and they didn't have mouse pads. I just wanted a mouse pad, and my only option was to order online.

“U.S. Cyber Trust Mark” is the latest in a series of actions President Biden and the Biden-Harris Administration have taken to protect hard-working families.

The Biden-Harris Administration today announced a cybersecurity certification and labeling program to help Americans more easily choose smart devices that are safer and less vulnerable to cyberattacks. The new “U.S. Cyber Trust Mark” program proposed by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel would raise the bar for cybersecurity across common devices, including smart refrigerators, smart microwaves, smart televisions, smart climate control systems, smart fitness trackers, and more. This is the latest example of President Biden’s leadership on behalf of hard-working families—from cracking down on hidden junk fees, to strengthening cyber protections and protecting the privacy of people in their own homes.

Several major electronics, appliance, and consumer product manufacturers, retailers, and trade associations have made voluntary commitments to increase cybersecurity for the products they sell. Manufacturers and retailers announcing support and commitments today to further the program include Amazon, Best Buy, Google, LG Electronics U.S.A., Logitech, and Samsung Electronics. Under the proposed new program, consumers would see a newly created “U.S. Cyber Trust Mark” in the form of a distinct shield logo applied to products meeting established cybersecurity criteria. The goal of the program is to provide tools for consumers to make informed decisions about the relative security of products they choose to bring into their homes.

Acting under its authorities to regulate wireless communication devices, the FCC is expected to seek public comment on rolling out the proposed voluntary cybersecurity labeling program, which is expected to be up and running in 2024. As proposed, the program would leverage stakeholder-led efforts to certify and label products, based on specific cybersecurity criteria published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) that, for example, requires unique and strong default passwords, data protection, software updates, and incident detection capabilities.

Today, the FCC is applying to register a national trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that would be applied to products meeting the established cybersecurity criteria. The Administration—including the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency—would support the FCC in educating consumers to look for the new label when making purchasing decisions, and encouraging major U.S. retailers to prioritize labeled products when placing them on the shelf and online.

To further enhance transparency and competition:
  • The FCC intends the use a QR code linking to a national registry of certified devices to provide consumers with specific and comparable security information about these smart products. Working with other regulators and the U.S. Department of Justice, the Commission plans to establish oversight and enforcement safeguards to maintain trust and confidence in the program.
  • NIST will also immediately undertake an effort to define cybersecurity requirements for consumer-grade routers—a higher-risk type of product that, if compromised, can be used to eavesdrop, steal passwords, and attack other devices and high value networks. NIST will complete this work by the end of 2023, to permit the Commission to consider use of these requirements to expand the labeling program to cover consumer grade routers.
  • The U.S. Department of Energy today also announced a collaborative initiative with National Labs and industry partners to research and develop cybersecurity labeling requirements for smart meters and power inverters, both essential components of the clean, smart grid of the future.
  • Internationally, the U.S. Department of State is committed to supporting the FCC to engage allies and partners toward harmonizing standards and pursuing mutual recognition of similar labeling efforts.
This new labeling program would help provide Americans with greater assurances about the cybersecurity of the products they use and rely on in their everyday lives. It would also be beneficial for businesses, as it would help differentiate trustworthy products in the marketplace.

As part of the development of the program, the Biden-Harris Administration and FCC will continue to engage stakeholders, regulators, and Congress to fully implement this program and work together to keep Americans safe.

I get your point, but in the 90s we didn't have such a blatant case of fraud nor such a mask off persecution of a polititian loved by a good chunk of the country.

I also considered 2016 a do or die election and seeing how things panned out, it's incrediby clear to me that had the witch won, all the shit you see now would have happened 4 years ago.
