reddit General

Was looking at r/nyc before, and they set up their AutoMod to sticky a mealy-mouthed comment to the top of every thread with a NY Post link, because the sub is full with performatively woke transplants who believe that anyone who has any issue with cities is a fascist from Long Island or Ohio. Never mind that most law-abiding urban minorities have a way more nuanced opinion on the cops because they've had a lifetime of dealing with the neighborhood crackhead trying to break their windows.

I feel like that sub has calmed down over the last few months, though. Comments sections are way more balanced now, but before it seemed like anyone who said that you might have a reason to be on edge late at night/in a sketchy neighborhood/if you're a woman would get downvoted to shit and yelled at about how they're doing a freakin problematic yikes.

For anyone here even remotely interested on the Lemmy side of things. A user called @nnrx@sh.itjust.works has made the old reddit UI work with Lemmy now (github). I know lemmy.world already has it implemented via old.lemmy.world subdomain some other smaller instances did too, but it works with any instance if you go to https://mlmym.org/ and input a Lemmy instance.

Do you know any based Lemmy instances? I’ve been banned off a few of the normie ones for pretty middle of the road opinions.

Genuinely try to imagine being a r/place janny who spends every second of your the day alert and ready to clean up Renaldos piss and covering up shego's vagina/penis as soon as it rises. doing it all for free of course
The Counter-Strike community sends their regards.

I remember the days when Reddit was pretty much just diet 4chan, complete with all kinds of crazy degenerates hitting the front page. I'm sure people on here have heard of that guy who broke his arms and got jerked off by his mother to relieve stress, but I still remember this one guy on r/relationshipadvice. He made a post saying he found out his wife was having an affair and how proceed with the divorce due to them having kids, and then a couple months after, he made another post saying that after he told his wife about wanting a divorce, during the night she stabbed their two children to death and was arrested, and how he was having issues with his in-laws about them still defending her even after their children's funerals.
It's always so jarring to see posted from 10+ years ago where people are outright saying nigger and shit.
r/Place is so fucking boring for me because of the flags. These country subreddits can't do anything other than flags? Why not some national symbols or something?

Instead we get a bunch of retards fighting to put some fucking pixels in a flag everywhere.
These are the kind of retards that think food grows in stores.
And the kind who take a plane over flyover country, look down, and go, "How comes we aren't building ugly overprices condominiums here?"

I was on a flight into a California airport one summer and someone looked down and said "look at all the flooding"

It's rice you fucks, yes they grow shit in California other than retards. I didn't say anything though.

When I worked at the supermarket I was often blamed for industry trends. When Ice Cream got cut in half, people reacted as if I was doing it myself in the back with a bandsaw.

In our area, uncrustables were restricted to a rival chain. Customers acted like I had personally shit in their car.

God I wish I could have shit in their cars.

Uncrustables are just hostess fruit pies that have been frozen. There is nothing notable or interesting about them. FUCK those people.

Why even bother wasting breath at that point, mistaking rice paddies for flooding is terminal retardation.

I find it peculiar when predditors talk about spitting in someones food, as if it's epic own or something. The same with calling him a piece of shit, I'm sure that will change his ways.

The spitting will not only lose him the job, but give him criminal charges too. He could maybe get away without that if it was a normal person, but not with big CEO. No way.

Rural Americans are getting shafted and it’s their fault because they’re not on Reddit enjoying being shafted…. or something.
I'm lost for words on this one. Is it so terrible that America prospers, even if it's in states that you don't like? I'm hard bought-in on the "they want you dead etc etc etc and they think it's funny" but this is crazy even from that perspective. The Midwest doesn't exist in a vacuum and neither do the coasts. My belief that we must A C C E L E R A T E grows daily.

Preaching to the choir but r/place is the most retarded thing ever. It takes a special kind of autistic collectivism to spend hours staring at a screen so you can pop down a pixel every minute in the shape of some dumb flag or pixel "art", all in the name of advertising some extremely niche community made up of thousands of such spergs. What remains of Reddit really is people who have no dignity and no better way to spend their time.

"We have 90k people in our discord and a night shift team"
I wouldn't admit to something as embarrassing as this even if someone held a fucking gun to my head. As a germ myself i remember the german sub being only filled with absolute faggots even by reddit standards, i've had the pleasure of never having interacted with another german IRL that was as pozzed as the average poster there is. My city's sub is 90% expats asking about "where can i find x", complaining about shitty service and bad internet speeds.

I did a lot of kitchen work in my life, monkeying with a customer's food in any way, shape or form would have resulted in an elbow to the face by the head-chef and a swift dismissal. You can probably get away with it in a fast food kitchen with no oversight, though.
