Nobody knows. Nobody's ever given a child puberty blockers long term and then tried to make them stop and go through normal puberty before, as far as I know (or if they have, it's only just started happening). All the puberty blocked detransitioners seemingly started on cross-sex hormones, and I'd assume this person is also on HRT, which is complicating matters - they're not just coming off lupron.

The problem I have with the "wait and see" and putting a kid on blockers, only for them to decide they are normal after all, is the potential gaslighting from whatever medical professional administering the blockers. Like has been pointed out, there's money to be had from keeping a kid in the delusion that they are trans.

I would HOPE that the medical professional supervising the child and the parents would be honest and critical, like a good doctor is supposed to be when it comes to possibly life altering decisions. But we know of too many who only see the dollar signs, just look at the threads here. Like Doctor Teet Yeet..horrifying woman.

Spoiler: Entirely unrelated to troonism, but kinda relevant

I watched a documentary about a man from Denmark who wanted to be euthanised - he had been in an accident that left him crippled, he was in pain every day waking up because of spasms when his wife and aide would get him dressed and put into his chair, he could only move his face and otherwise he was numb from the jawline and to his toes. He wanted to die because he would never recover.
He had waited I think 5-7 years before he finally gave up. He'd done all of the physio-therapy, he had seen so many different experts. He needed to move into a single-story house because the house he and his wife lived in wasn't handicap-accessible. He had slept alone for years. He could not have intimacy with his wife. His life was not worth living and thus he wanted to die.

Why do I mention this man? Because he went through MULTIPLE doctors to get his request to be humanely euthanised. He had to sign three different waivers that he was sane and this was what he wanted. Three Belgian doctors had to sign off for him, too. Two completely neutral parties that had never met him but read his case. His own treating physician from Denmark went with him to Belgium to see it through and to help him if he decided to back out.

Why are we putting children through permanent decisions at all when they can't even decide what to wear if they're not allowed to be Spider-man in school for the day, when a grown ass man with zero chance of recovery had to jump through this many hoops just to die with dignity?
I've heard horror stories from streams with Buck Angel where he interviews detrans people, they all more or less say the same thing: The system signed off on hormones as if they were vitamin gummies and had zero life-altering effects. Most of them haven't seen a therapist for very long and the therapists they see believe in affirming the delusion.
Some of the detrans people have cut off their tits or their dicks. Some of them suffer the consequences and have uterine related issues because of the cock chop or franken-dong.
Yes, a few of them do not entirely regret their decisions but only because they know they cannot blame anyone but themselves and they can never have their old lives back, so they make the most of what they have.
One said she didn't miss her breasts but she did explain that she didn't miss the back aches, because she had a very big chest.

The NHS updated their guidance on puberty blockers, actually -

- left is May 2020, right is June 2020 onwards. Their stance is "you take puberty blockers once you've started puberty until you're old enough to take HRT at 16, and if you don't want HRT you just come off puberty blockers". In practice some children at 15 started cross-sex hormones because the GIDS guidance was "around the 16th birthday". But even GIDS acknowledged problems

Stopping puberty blockers at 16 and not taking hormones might just allow for some puberty to take place, but again, we don't really know. 90% of children on puberty blockers go on to HRT and I'm not sure there's much of a follow up on those who don't - we see that time and again in studies on trans healthcare, they just don't check in with the people who drop out of the study or stop responding so they only select for the people who are 100% sold on the whole thing.

It's absolutely a guinea pig situation. Clinicians at the Transgender Centre in St Louis Children's Hospital apparently described treatments for transgender children as "we are building the plane while we are flying it". At least in the UK with the Cass review, GIDS is no longer accepting referrals and the interim process is "still being built" so there's allegedly a backlog of 8,000 children who are not being given puberty blockers.

Back to the theme of this thread, the trans community initially celebrated the Cass Review and argued it was going to help trans so many kids. They still can't make up their mind if the Cass Review is transphobic or if it's actually great and transphobes misrepresent it;

I think they didn't see the interim service specification for specialist gender incongruence services in children and young people:

We have previously made clear, including the draft interim service specification we consulted on, the intention that the NHS will only commission puberty supressing hormones as part of clinical research. This approach follows advice from Dr Hilary Cass’ Independent Review highlighting the significant uncertainties surrounding the use of hormone treatments.

We are now going out to targeted stakeholder testing on an interim clinical commissioning policy proposing that, outside of a research setting, puberty suppressing hormones should not be routinely commissioned for children and adolescents who have gender incongruence/dysphoria.

NHS England has established a new national Children and Young People’s Gender Dysphoria Research Oversight Board which has now approved the development of a study into the impact of puberty suppressing hormones (‘puberty blockers’) on gender dysphoria in children and young people with early-onset gender dysphoria. More information on the Board and the study can be found in the consultation report.

I toyed with the idea of making a Tranny Ju-Ju thread, with examples of this kind of magical thinking troons have, like when they claim flayed inside out dick skin will magically transmute into tissue identical to actual vaginas, and that their hips grow, their feet shrink, etc, all that shit, after taking hormones enough because the "body just knows how it's supposed to be" there are a lot of examples I've noticed of this kind of delusional belief, that artificial hormones somehow rewrite troon DNA like CRISPR but better, and that after a while the troons body "just knows" to become female.
Also shit like the crazy idea they're just a few years away from womb transplants and shit, one of the craziest ones was totally convinced we're not far off being able to rewrite chromosomes and troons will become women for real.

Honestly, I don't think this would be that difficult to make, they post this shit constantly. I might actually go ahead and make a True and Honest Trans Science thread myself (unless somebody else does it), I've posted tons of this shit myself just in the sideshow thread. It's legit some of my favorite troon content because they all consider themselves experts and constantly get basic 101 level science wrong as much as they get the scientific method wrong. We'd actually need to use the thread to chronicle all the different subfields of troon science because many of them contradict and dispute each others claims and there's some great "advanced" subfields like evolutionary troonlogy which contends that troonery is the result of natural selection and the troon scholars in that subfield often go on at length about this.

I'm thinking an OP that's continually updated and mostly focuses on examples of each claim and subfield might be the way to do this, maybe a few of the "top" men experts, and then the thread could just be like this one or sideshow or etc. where people post stuff as they find it.

I remember that. These folx are stuck so far inside their too-online activist bubbles that they cannot interpret normal bureaucratic/political language. The criticism in the interim Cass review looked muted, but if you are even mildly familiar with that sort of document, it was clear that it was heavily critical of the care being provided.

But if you have no exposure to (or interest in) that kind of writing because your "activism" consists of sending threats to middle-aged women and performing a revolutionary LARP for all your friends on Twitter, you are going to read that restrained language as positive. Because whenever you write something non-positive it doesn't look like that.
