While Camelot has missed a couple of the Friday streams, he has to have been the most frequent guest; he's on almost every week.

Nick made a dismissive comment at some point that I thought was insightful to his thinking, about how he could have hired a local attorney for cheaper.

Nick has, according to Nick, had negative run-ins with both opposing counsel and the judge. I think what's really going on is that Rekieta is trying to dunk on the local legal community by retaining a famous and extremely expensive lawyer to show them that he's above them now.

I think you are wrong in thinking that he is thinking about the case in terms of the financial costs of the options available to him. I think he is thinking of the case in terms of spite and pride. That would mean that spending well into six figures, taking the case to trial and being ordered to pay Monty some relatively trivial amount like $500 or $100 or $1 is preferable to him compared to settling. If Nick settles, Monty seems like the type of guy to demand that Nick admits he was wrong, which Nick does not want to do.
