What game or game franchise has the worst fanbase?

I want you to tell me if there has ever been a fandom that has outed more Nonces and had involved so much more gay nigger discord drama than Friday night Funkin.

This game fucking sucks and its fanbase is full of retarded nostalgiafagging children and manchildren who want to fuck said retarded children.

this isn't true so much anymore, but there was a time when Souls fans were some of the most insufferable faggots on the internet. almost all of them were retards who never played a game made before 2006, raised on cucked latter-day AAA franchises like Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, etc., which constantly hold your hand and never allow you to fail, thinking they had a monopoly on being Expert Video Game Players because they finally played one (1) (one) game that actually enforces a skill floor. not to mention basically any other game that penalizes you on death being compared to Souls, even games that predate Souls, even the games that actually inspired Souls lmao. now that Armored Core 6 is on the horizon I keep seeing people say shit like "yooo this is like mech souls" and my autistic angst burns white-hot

Undertale and The Last of Us have similar problems. their most enthusiastic fans consist of people who have never heard of Earthbound before, or think the Games As Art "debate" is extremely important and pertinent, because - get this - these games have violence in them, but you're supposed to feel sad about it. fucking incredible. a similar crowd huddled around Braid and Fez which were also stupid, masturbatory games with insufferable creators. Phil Fish quitting gamedev out of spite because he was getting trolled online was absolutely chef's kiss

I think about this article sometimes.

Every time I hear his name I can only think of 2 things.

and

You think cage will ever figure out we are laughing at him, and his stupid games, and not with him?

FF14 just exudes bdp. Unlike other rpg games only trannies play ff14 actually has a huge playerbase of crazy biological women who often intersects with the kpop fandom.
Much to my shame I do like to dip into FF14 every now and then cause I enjoy raiding with the boys. Though I'll never forget the most recent time I did this I got put into the Novice general chat, where you get sent if you're brand new or if like me your account was inactive for a number of consecutive months.

Within ten fucking minutes of logging in for the first time in a year, some psycho in the Novice chat was threatening to kill themselves cause some random fuck wasn't replying to their incessant @s every couple of minutes. And apparently the reason they were so obsessed with this rando was because they just passingly mentioned a boy band they liked.

The people in that game actually scare me.

But having said that. Gmod DarkRP players are far worse and are some of the worst subhumans the internet has to offer.

even though Spec Ops: The Line did exactly that a few years before both of those were released, and it was just a retelling of Heart of Darkness. I remember reading an article on how that came to be, and the gist of it I got was that they were like "Well, we have to make yet another modern military shooter, might as well give it some pizazz". Then it sold poorly anyway, but got some residual sales from faggots like me who were told it's 2deep4u.

Undertale's whole anti-violence thing fell flat, anyway. Some of the in-battle puzzles you had to endure on figuring out how to get the stupid Mercy command to turn yellow could get really long in the tooth, and I had to stay patient so I could get the happy nice fun time ending. And then I did, and it wasn't particularly hard, but it would have been nice to have a few max HP boosters every now and then so I didn't have to limp along with 20 HP total throughout the entire game. And also do that trick near the end where you generate endless Dog Somethings to sell for like $2 a pop to afford more Health Things to scarf down as the final bosses beat the shit out of me.

Braid sucks.

that's really what gets me about the whole thing. games have been using the idea of "violence is bad, actually" for decades. scores of adventure games have been made where violence is not just rare but a dangerous last resort. the whole Metal Gear Solid series has a theme of accusing the player of enjoying violence for violence's sake. the Hotline Miami games have their entire presentation and gameplay built around enticing you into ultraviolence and then showing you the sickening results. surely even normies have heard about the mission in Modern Warfare 2 where you do a mass shooting in an airport - which was massively controversial for its time - or, as you mentioned, Spec Ops, which got wide attention in gaming media for being Call of Duty but for Intelligent Mature Adults. and yet The Last of Us enjoys massive critical acclaim and popularity for being a uniquely compelling game that's woke about the realities of violence, despite being little more than The Walking Dead with mushroom zombies. really? I don't fucking get it.

I feel like I'm the only asshole that bought Spec Ops The Line at release thinking it would just be some dumb 3rd person shooter with a survival storyline.

I liked it, but I didn't go into it thinking it'd be some 2 deep for U thing and just took it as what it was, some schlocky heart of darkness shit.

Artfag gamers suck balls

Anyone who considers themselves as part of a "community" because they play a game/watch something tend to be the most annoying cretins when it comes to discussing their media franchise of choice.
Try pointing out a flaw and watch how they sperg out on you for disagreeing with their opinion on a video game (e.g. tell a New Vegas fanboy that the gameplay is boring, watch how he flips out about how it's all Bethesda's fault for making Fallout 3)
Something about Internet communities loosely tied together with similar interests tends to attract the biggest of losers. Maybe because they would get kicked out of any actual close-knit community they tried to insert themselves into?
Starsector is a game I really enjoy, cool indie game that isn't on steam, put lots of hours into it. Joined the discord to download a mod from there. Majority of the avatars were anime, tranny, tranime or furry.

Why's it gotta be like this guys?
Sucks to hear, Starsector is awesome, however it's no surprise when modding a game that you'll encounter troons, animes, furries and at least one tranifur (especially if it involves going on Discord).

The only video game Fandom that isn't gay af is the 1893 Columbus World Expo Arcade showcase Fandom. Everyone else is degenerate as fuck.

I have always found that worst fanbases always have the unholy trinity in common, fujos/shippers, troons and coomers.

Usually the fandom of some breed of weebshit. I looked up Fire Emblem a few years back, to see what had happened to the series. This was around the time Three Houses came out, and I was hit with a neverending tidal wave of porn, and insane screeds about how every character is gay, and also trans. Look at the state of D&D and the insanity that surrounds tabletop. Those three unholy groups together are the kiss of death for a franchise, you might be able to weather one, maybe even two, but three just destroys it.

Look at tv, and it has the same issues. SuperWhoLock, Avatar/Korra/Stephen Universe/Adventure Time and any anime that has a whiff of the gay. Same group of insane people. I just want to watch Supernatural maybe find out how the later seasons go, not read a 1000 word screed from some large, straight, white woman about how the two leads need to fuck, in the show and in real life.

Thats the troons, for some reason they have latched to the game in the past year or so

I say some reason cuz the game has no trans shit at all, just two very subtly gay characters but pooners and trooners still manage to say they represent them
Its probably a game they liked when they were sperglings and has since become something that easily lets them fall into the mod black hole.
Man can i change my answer to anyone thats too deep into modding?

I was just about to come in here and say "any fanbase with a sizeable contingent of fujos and troons, all coomers."

That is the objectively correct answer. The reason for this is that despite their comparatively small absolute numbers, they are very loud and very dedicated. Hence, they take over.

Now what bothers me is, you would expect the straight coomers to take over because you would assume they would have the numbers. They just don't in the same way. It's weird. I don't quite understand it. I think straight coomers "move on" more quickly.
