There's an old Jimmy Stewart movie, called "The Mountain Road," about a group of US engineers retreating in the face of a Japanese offensive in China who are supposed to blow up military installations and a bridge. One of his men sees all the fleeing Chinese refugees, and out of compassion offers them some of their extra food. They riot, fighting over the food, and stomp him to death in the process.

Kai Cenat is a single, relatively famous person who has money that can be used to pay off big fines. It's much easier for the city administration to very publicly come down on him like a ton of bricks than go after the thousands of petty criminals in NYC that turned a PS5 giveaway into a riot.

The unfortunate part is that I don't see any reality where Kai Cenat doesn't profit from this.
Best case scenario for him is that he gets no charges, everyone agrees that he was stupid for not planning and at the end of the day he just got free publicity for days on end.
Worst case I can imagine is that he goes to jail for a few months which will lead to all of his fans getting pissed of because "the system is racist" and when he gets out he'll have a gigantic comeback and be more popular before with more die-hard fans than ever ( kinda similar how we just get more passionate any time the Farms get taken down).
Either way he'll financially profit SUBSTANTIALLY from this fuck-up + I doubt him and his team are retarded enough to fuck up to this degree again.

they could throw the book at him, and all the "gains" mean nothing because he can't stream from prison. people will just forget about him after a few months and move on. that's how it always works, either it stops or you get replaced. even more so if they make him liable for the damages, so he wouldn't have any money when he gets out and being a has-been.
