RekietaLaw | hey, I'm really fucking sorry for any headaches I've caused. I really didn't ever mean to. and shit that you've had to deal with because of me is shit |
Oh let's break it down, shall we?
- Very late apology
- "any" headaches versus "the" headaches — Are we meant to guess if there were headaches at all? Maybe he considers them innumerable, but this statement seems to be distancing from the ownership of said innumerable "any" headaches.
- Double use of the word "really" and thrown in cursy words for extra emphatic coolness — probably to detract from the stench of hubris from behind the keyboard as he wrote this tripe.
- Public apology with no specifics, done from within a den of paying retards and trolls — Preferably to put her on the spot in case she breaks away from the simulation and "goes off".
- He worded it as such that he went through extended effort to shield Mandy from consequences. "I really didn't ever mean to". So what did he actually
mean? No explanation given. I dislike these types of apologies, because they're nothing words. They give the image of being sorry, but don't actually take responsibility for something.
- Naturally, a passive victim mentality comes into play at the end: "All because of lil' ol' me *cries in chinese*". It wasn't because of his actions, oh no, it was because he is all important, Nick Rekieta. How about... "I was a dipshit and I should act less like a dipshit in the future." Too simple even for this simpleton.
Despite not having specifics or giving an emotional weight of any
tangible (read: verifiable, etc) nature, this ends up having the effect of:
1) Providing a public apology for those in the know (who saw the stream) to refer back to in the future.
2) Because this was done so far into the future, there's no real consequences for admitting harm was done
3) Shields non-aware members (who missed it) from knowing any of extent of harm, the specifics and because there's no public videos on the matter unless one
knows where to look, it is basically contained to a small chatter
4) Delivered straight to Mandy's doorstep in a PUBLIC way so that even if she were to create some scene, it would look quite bad if she were to lack grace on the spot. Mind, in front of PAYING sycophants. There is no other way to describe the situation other than it's done in a manipulative manner.
This is not how public apologies should be crafted, if they're even necessary. This was meant as CYA so he had some kind of defense if it comes back up: "I apologized!". And what he did say, he said in the most effeminate, tacky way possible. I wholeheartedly believe she's a catfish that just sticks around to bay for attention and so I have no real attachment there. Whatever I think, it's a shitty way to do things because it puts the onus on the person to hold their tongue as long as they can possibly endure as any responsibility is left on them. Also because it was nonspecific, the gesture is basically meaningless and disingenuous. He can say "I was the source of this thing", which is the extent of it, but it does nothing for the other person in the long run because it papers over the issue.
Regardless of the above: The fallout will continue as if the apology has never happened. Fallout that was probably inflicted by both parties since they're communally renowned attention whores, but whatever. Rekieta just picks up a toy to play with it every once in a while and even though the toy likes it, people noticed the pattern this time, and we can't let the public think he plays with his toys without remorse. Oh no no.
