"And weebs are zoo animals." :story:

Yeah, that audience is gone. And to Tweet it from an anime convention, no less... Big balls. Small brain.

A lot of people on KF will probably agree with Nick about weebs and anime, but him crying about the fact that audience is turning their back on him is just ludicrous. What the fuck did he expect to happen?
He could have said the same thing with just a drop of nuance like, "y'all know there's some real creeps in the anime crowd" and kept most of the weeb audience. He could have said it at a live panel and gotten some laughs. But his (self diagnosed?) Oppositional Defiant Disorder and liquorbrain compel him to make obnoxious, inflammatory statements.

I know he says that he's always been this way, but I would think that if 8 years ago there was a Minnesota lawyer putting his balls in a plastic cage getting into catfights with other lawyers while his wife is getting blacked, the Farms would have heard about it. I'm convinced exposure to other internet personalities who engage in this retarded behavior like Dick and Ralph have influenced his behavior. Is Lol Cow Disease transmissible by prolonged exposure?

Balldo is now following a photographer on Instagram.

Is he following the man for this fine art or manipulation of lights, or?

His recent two additions have been thirst-related. Shameful.

Now wait a minute...

Could this be one of Kirk's fine works?
I don't think so. The guy's IG bio says he's a Houston photographer.

If Nick met this guy personally, instead of just following him randomly, I'm guessing Nick met him while he's in Houston for Matsuri.

Also, say what you want about weebs, but I think they were a far better choice to side with that the deplorable creatures that lurk in his Locals now.

Anybody wanna take bets as to whether this was his last Anime Matsuri?
He doesn't have time to promote his panel on Twitter, but he can snap at someone asking why the hell he's even there. If you watch how giddy he was at bragging at the size of his line this time last year, it's hard to imagine he's taking the relative lack of attention well at all.

I will find it very interesting if he ever talks about Matsuri at all on his shows after getting back from his trip. As I said before it happened, while Nick seemed to be lowering expectations beforehand, his reception was probably going to fall short of the already lowered expectations. And none of the footage I've seen from the convention floor suggests that that prediction was wrong.

For my part, I'd be surprised if he goes back in the future. My money is on Nick coming up with an excuse why he can't go next year and then never mentioning it again. At the very least, I can't see the idea of Anime Matsuri being a meetup spot for the Rekieta Extended Universe making it to 2024. Nick is basically rolling deep with an entourage - Drex and three LawTube lawyers, if I'm counting right, all of whose connections to Anime Matsuri are only through Nick. That's one thing when Nick had a line that bended and curled around, but it doesn't really make sense now.

On the other hand, this made it more difficult to photograph, for both fans and Farmers alike. That may be why they were keen to stay on the mat, as the rest of the convention would be visible, feel more accessible to them and thus easier to greet traffic towards their respective tables.
I'm not sure if I'm willing to give Nick the benefit of the doubt. I think the reason might be that Nick didn't want to get photographed with a very small/no line. Any video or photo of him taken while he's standing out in front of his table or Camelot's table might result in people concluding he was just arriving at or leaving his table at the time, which would mean it wouldn't be surprising that he didn't have a line. That was certainly my guess when I first saw a video of him out on the mat. And either way, the imagery of him sitting in front of few or no fans is a lot worse than him standing in a small gaggle of people.

All I am going to say this is, if last year's Nick did what he did to Pippa and said all vtuber fans were pedos, people would be all over him in Matsuri and try to rip him a new one.

However 2023's Nick is so irrelevant that people don't even alog him anymore. Nick, trannies wouldn't even flag you.

Someone questions why Nick is even at AM and Nick gets defensive.

What a cunt. That "more than you" reply barely even made sense. Had to re-read before I realized he was saying he has "[I have] more [to do with anime] than you." It's a dickhead response, why be a fan of the dude if he can't even handle being asked a question like this?

The only people who'd find this appealing are other shrimp dick insecure bullies who vicariously get off to Nick being a dick to people. "Haha, yeah! If I was in his position I'd be a dick like that too, hehe!" It's so douchey and I don't think he knows or cares how poorly it reflects off him, probably because "if they don't like my shitty remarks on Twitter then I don't want them as fans!" as he weeps over his failed GoFundMe.

EDIT: Doesn't this faggot grift as a Christian too? Oh boy, I love that passage in the book of John where Nicodemus asks Jesus "how can these things be?" and Jesus replies with "well because I said so, stupid!"

Nick definitely started the trend of AM bringing in unconventional guests but now that they've got bigger names like Critical Drinker and powerhouses like Meatcanyon attending they're clearly looking to sunset Nick's involvement. It's hard to interpret the abrupt cancellation of his panel as anything other than a warning shot.

Did he really admit that he flagged pippa's co worker? Or is that just assumed cause faggalot has a history of flagging on youtube?
I don't think he explicitly admitted it, if that's what you mean, but... I mean, come on... it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to pin him as the most likely suspect. He was whining about death threats, calling Phase gay, has a history of flagging, and then boom, Lumi (a Phase member) gets suspended off Twitter for her "Kill him" joke reply to Pippa. He seems to imply her ban was virtuous.

@Retink Retunk gives a summary of it here.

At a minimum he seems to support her ban and was egging it on, if he didn't personally pull the trigger himself.

Then he goes to an anime convention with Nick and few people there seem to a shit about either of them. Uh-mazing. :story:

I wonder if Mandy ever showed up
Would explain why Camelot was there.

Waiting for Nick to somehow blame "those damn kids" for his lateness/no-shows at his own table like he does for his streams.

Is this critic implying that Nick is at AM as a Vic barnacle?
It looks that way, and they're not really wrong. I don't see any way he would have started attending AM but for Vic, or that he would keep getting invited back without Vic. Likewise, Coomalot gets to come because of NIck.

I think it made a certain amount of sense him attending early on when he was championing Vic, but between that whole case ending on a sour note, and his new hostility towards anime fans, I think the weeb wave has crested and has fallen. 2023 is not 2019.

Vic is a really nice guy though, who seems to stand by his friends, so it wouldn't exactly surprise me if he's still offered an invite next year. I just don't know if he'd take it. He seems to be just embarrassing himself now.

Final day but today everything is closing. Youtube Corner early in the day and after:

What was the attendance at the con like, in general?

Because they were claiming 43,000 in 2019, and that sounds a bit hard to believe even back then. It seems outright impossible this year.

I would say significantly lighter this year. 43K doesn't even sound remotely feasible to me but it was busy on Saturday. The other days more moderate and only one portion was open on Thurs. There are not enough panels or big names, so can't see that kind of draw. I didn't see much in the schedule worth going in for random panels. Mostly just a chance to get out of the heat, shop and hang out in costume. There were less cars this year, probably because Artist Alley was back downstairs. Last year they took up far more space to fill it out.

AM has growing competition. I was told they would be in NRG in Feb. They must've been thinking this convention that is expanding into that venue. Their focus seems to be VAs:

It seems like more than just Minecraft. Taking a look at the official highlights channel, 5 of the last 16 videos feature Camelot's guest "Cottontail" in the title.

I'm sure based on the past history he'll still be welcome at AM unless he escalates his attacks on the weebs in a major way. It's more a matter of whether they will still give him the keys to the city, which I don't know will continue to happen.

The way the "Nick Rekieta and the Youtubers" panel ended up cancelled and rolled into a "Friday Night Tights" panel suggests the AM organizers might have belatedly figured out that Nick had tanked his stock with the AM faithful to the point where he shouldn't be the headliner anymore. Similarly, I'm not sure if requests like "Hey, this guy is now my best friend on the Internet, can you give him a table beside mine?" will go as far next time around.

I think what will end up happening is Nick making excuses to not go to the next AM. That seems to be in the interests of all parties. Nick gets to pretend that if he went he'd get the same reception that he did in 2022. And for Vic, well, it's probably best for him if Nick's image among the con-going crowd is frozen in amber at the Weeb Wars-era Rekieta. The biggest story involving Nick and Anime Matsuri in 2023 was the incident where Nick and Camelot drooled over the attractiveness of a female fan and discussed the finer points of what would happen if she went to the convention. Not exactly amazing optics.

The weirdest part was Flaggot and Nick claiming to be on good terms with Pippa after getting her coworker banned and shitting on the company she has stated she enjoys working at currently despite having issues in the past with them. Kirsche at the time also canceled a collab she was going to do with Flaggot the following week after it happened.

Regardless, if you're going to LARP as free speech youtubers you shouldn't boast about it when someone gets banned for dumb shit that you yourself can be banned for easily. The response should have been an obvious "Oh shit, this went too far I didn't want them banned." or something along those lines. Though that requires common sense and men who take it in the ass don't have any of that.

I think it's too late for that now. If he wanted to go out on a relatively high note, he should have made 2022 his AM swan song.

It's easy to see why his attendance this year was a mistake from the following timeline:

- July 28-31 - Nick attends AM 2022.
- August 18th - Vic's appeal is rejected by the Texas Court of Appeals.
- September 29th - Rehearing is denied.
- October(ish) - Nick starts going full-on degenerate (some people surmise the Vic loss might have broke something inside him).
- November - This thread is moved to IF.

The Gods were even smiling on him by waiting till after AM 2022 before we got the bad news concerning Vic's appeal. Nick's been on a constant downward trajectory since then though. Two months ago, he and Coomalot get into a pissing match with a cartoon rabbit and her handlers, and then Nick took a shit on anime fans before attending a convention also attended mostly by anime fans. His attendance this year only really served to demonstrate that a lot of people are over him now. If he packed it in after 2022, he could have argued (with at least some credibility) that he's always been positively received by AM attendees. Not anymore.

Ah yes, the vtuber that associates with pedo groomers and pedo groomer culture, really a great fit for coomalot and eventually Nick Rekieta.

As if him gargling Vito's balls wasn't enough, the "progressive" arc is looming.
I hope they're internet savvy enough to avoid reviewing a Balldo or something.
My brother, a Balldo would fit a Sseth review, and it would not be the first time he talks about testicular torture.
