I don't think so, I've only heard of the owners of servers/some administration (which were probably hired after 2017 being weirdos.. From a glance, both of the founders look like normal people

In retrospect, kuz buying the sharty really was the beginning of the end. His purchase planted the seed for a poisonous cancer that didnt really take root until the very end of his adminship. We had good times in the post soot era, but kuz, perhaps unknowingly, was an infected carrier of the plague known as discord - one that seems to have been obsessed with him for his entire life. No other man can be truly held at more fault for the ultimate death of the site then kuz. He built us an empire, but also spread the viral disease which killed it.

The few times I'd browsed the site after Kuz had bought it felt completely different to the times I'd browsed it in 2020/early 2021.. Almost as if the culture of the site had been warped entirely

Not just tranny janny, fed tranny janny. And it's always the altchans that get big. First 8chan gets shut down over Christchurch (which was not the worst thing that place had up on public display), now it's the sharty. The more you look into it the more it seems some messed up shit is happening with chan culture as a whole. 4chan was on a bit of a downward spiral but 2014-2018 /pol/ had some fun energy, with threads such as /sg/ and especially the HWNDU raids. Then 2019 rolls around and boom, the place literally becomes lifeless, to the point you have an unironic zogbot general that never gets deleted. 8 was founded because moot was contacted by the feds to delete gamergate threads from /v/. That place also had some interesting moments and was in many ways an extension of the old /b/ mixed with a healthy dose of /pol/. /qa/ was always a bit of a containment board (first for leftoid tourists, then for Pepe posting after /r9k/ got tired of it, and lastly for the soyjaks before it got kill in 2021) and even it was killed because they raided /lgbt/ which is an exclusively troon board (it's not known as /tttt/ for nothing). The rest... well you know how that ended not even two years after inception.
All in all, looks like we're it guys. The last true bastion of 2000s style Wild West internet. When not even anonymous imageboards have that old magic, you know the Internet really is dead.

This site was made in like 2012 you goober. That's not an era of Wild West internet by any stretch of the imagination. There's a dozen other things & kinds of people I could cite that demonstrates this place isn't a relic of the old internet so much as a sometimes-interesting crossroads for the current modern internet. Kiwifarms is good* but it's not for oldfags.

But it goes back to 2007. Chris Chan was a lolcow long before the Farms crystallized in the form they exist in now, and the CWCki has also been active in one way or the other since 2008 or 2009.
The site also carries the spirit of that Wild West era. Moderation is limited to only how much is necessary. Slurs are all okay to use.
And besides, how much of the oldfags from the Habbo/mid-2000s 4chan era are still around?

I heard that Jaktown has officially crumbled to ruin. I'd only ever been on the site a handful of times and I had no idea what the hell most of them were talking about most of the time, but some of them did some pretty funny shit now and then.
