I haven’t given that show one iota of my brainpower since the last time I saw that picture I posted. In fact, beyond that picture, I know nothing about that show or any of those people. (Besides hearing Anita’s name in the press over a decade ago). So yes, it took me this long.

OT: The most shocking part of this to me was that FF still existed in any capacity. I thought it disbanded after the abandoned Kickstarter series, when Johnny Mac went off to do Pop Culture Detective or whatever and Anita started her shitty podcast. Didn't realise she retained the brand.

IIRC, there was a period of time where Anita was paid not insignificant amounts of money to either give talks to game studios or make an appearance at said studio during game development to do...something? Make the studio/game appear more friendly to the rabid far-left so they'd drop their crusade and spend money on videogames (at least I assume that was possibly one of the goals; I think we all can guess on how well that worked)? Make the characters/plot more LGBTQA++whatever friendly? Either way, a decent chunk of "Shut up and leave us alone" money that she didn't really have to work for.

If FF is being officially ended now then I presume that all of the essentially free money has long since dried up so it's on to either retirement or a new grift. Did she ever get around to finishing the Tropes series of hers along with the DVD release, or did that vanish into the wind like so many other kickstarter scams (I may be remembering the goals/promises incorrectly; the various grifts kind of blur together)?

That specific troon is Caronline Petit, who was trans before it was mainstream. He was also one of the original culture warriors, giving The Third Birthday a bad review because the attractive female lead was "a submissive sex object", and docked a point from GTA5 because misogyny.

From was I remember, Anita hired Petit after getting criticised for not pushing the whole trans thing as that movement started to gather steam. I think Petit left early because Anita stopped paying him. I wouldn't be surprised if Anita was a terf, but I don't think she's said anything about it.

Did she ever get around to finishing the Tropes series of hers along with the DVD release, or did that vanish into the wind like so many other kickstarter scams (I may be remembering the goals/promises incorrectly; the various grifts kind of blur together)?

If I remember right, she never finished the series, but the backers let that slide because the topics were rolled into other videos. I think she complained because people kept nit-picking correcting her bullshit, making a bunch of videos impossible to produce. Again, this is all memories from a decade ago. If there were version, I don't remember it.

I still remember the first time I saw this troon in motion. It was this video, in which Anita talks about Star Wars, and he lumbers in from the side of the screen.

Pretty sure she was at least credited with consultation on Mass Effect: Andromeda, and I think some of the Battlefield games? I remember people at the time blaming her for those games being shit, but as much as I'd like it to be true I doubt she had any serious input; those games were doomed due to general publisher/studio incompetence, same as 90% of modern AAA output.

The series was cancelled halfway through due to 'harassment' and the DVDs were never made. Around the same time she ran another successful Kickstart grift to do a series on significant women in history, but I have no idea what came of that either.

I think she gave input on the Mirrors Edge remake, saying the controls were too complex? I remember that people at Dice were mad about her being given a tour of their studio and giving input on a game. It sounds like she was giving advice to EA at least.

The devs of Dishonored said she influenced the DLC and the sequel, but I don't know if that was a paid gig or if the devs just liked her videos.
