I think the reason lefties seethe so much about alt history channels is because most if not all of left wing thought relies on striving for some sort of a vision, an ideal while right wingers remain rather grounded in what works which is often written into tradition. So, providing an alternate history of how things could have been not only challenge their notion of linear progress (the inevitable march into a communist utopia), but also provide a different, potentially more right-wing vision of how the world could be. They can't refute or challenge this, because if there is no unified idea of what the perfect world would look like, there is no linear progress and there is no perfect system of governance to be achieved. Therefore, the left wing principle of the ends justifying the means is also destroyed. From there, almost the entirety of modern leftie thought ends up crumbling. It is no wonder that the most successful right wing thinkers and politicians had some kind of a vision for the future while the most successful left wingers had a strong method to their madness (think Stalin, Mao or Soros).

TL;DR: When debating leftie talking points, the most effective tactic is to avoid getting over engaged in their sophistry, because an experienced idiot will outdebate any good faith person, no matter how smart. Instead, a critique of the vision they're trying to achieve tends to be a fairly swift kick in the nuts they're rarely prepared for.

They want to be a colonial power but don't have the guts to tell you that. They think they own Africa, even as they posture about "each people should have a homeland".
