Thing is if he was dead there would be evidence.

A picture of a cheap Wish.com ashtray posted by Hector Martin, who it's now revealed is a literal pedophile.
Man, I wish I had seen this back when it all went down. That is what is known as a bunkotsu-bukuro (分骨袋). In Japan, where practically everybody is cremated, it's not uncommon to keep one portion of a person's remains at home on the family Buddhist altar while having another portion sent to be buried at the family temple, or bodaiji (菩提寺) - it's sort of like one's parish church in Catholicism, except that the family temple can sometimes be in a different part of the country altogether. Typically, the ashes are transported in a smaller urn, or honetsubo (骨壺), which is carried in an elaborate cloth bag - that's the "bukuro" in bunkotsu-bukuro. Here's a picture of a typical example:

As you can see, the urn itself is fairly plain, because it's typically not meant for display purposes, only as a means of carrying the ashes (though apparently it's not unheard of to use them as regular urns if you can't afford or don't have room for more expensive options).. In the picture supposedly showing Byuu's remains, you can see the urn has been taken out of the bag and placed on top of it for display. They're also pretty inexpensive - the example I posted (from this Japanese maker of Buddhist altars and related equipment) is only 1,980 yen, so less than 20 USD even before the recent weakening of the yen. There are even cheaper options on Rakuten, some less than $10.
So what does all this imply about Byuu and whether he's alive or dead? Not much either way, really. On the one hand, it's entirely possible to buy an inexpensive bunkotsu-bukuro online and have someone's name printed on it - I notice the printer even put Byuu's surname first, in typical Japanese fashion. On the other hand, it all seems fairly elaborate if the whole thing was just a hoax, and I imagine even a lot of foreigners actually living in Japan wouldn't be familiar with such things.
I will say that after reading the posts by Derrick Sobodash discussed here, I'm more inclined to believe Byuu really is dead, especially because (assuming the poster is actually who he claims to be) he flat-out asserts that Byuu's death wasn't caused by online bullying by Kiwi Farms transphobes, but Byuu's own considerable mental health issues. He also suggests these issues were exacerbated by taking unprescribed mood-altering hormones he got through the mail, which I can absolutely believe seeing how batshit insane so many trannies become after trooning out. Plus, the posts really do sound like someone mourning Byuu himself rather than trying to twist the narrative about his death to suit an agenda. We may never know for sure unless a death certificate or something finally comes to light.
