Who says your goal in life is to feel valid? Like all emotions this feeling will come and go naturallly over time. I think chasing the next dopamine hit is a reason why mental health issues are skyrocketing. I don't believe that we evolved to always feel joy, or always feel anything - good or bad.

Validation is great, feels good to be told you're worthwhile, but too much of anything is bad for you. Even water can kill you if you drink too much too fast.
In an effort to not shit up the thread, I'll probably make this a one-time response.

In the same way that negative police interactions inform people's view of police, I was wondering if positivity could be injected into being a functional human being. For example, black communities are filled with harmful messages about abusing women, drugs, and the law. Obviously, abdicating delayed gratification is not ideal but the lowercase i internet is begging people for self-destructive behavior.

I will concede that being mentally well should in theory make all of that a non-issue but for those who are not mentally well, what do we do?

My worst police interaction was when the cop testifying against me was telling the truth and doing it credibly and my lawyer told me he was pretty much a stand-up guy known for his honesty. I would have won that motherfucking shit otherwise.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

By all means be nice to people. Most people probably are decent people who can use some kindness. You don't know their life or their struggle. Being generally kind will rarely go badly irl.

But you can't make a functional person commit suicide by telling them to do a flip. And you can't make a non-functional person into a healthy one by telling them the sun is shining and that every day is a good day.

You certainly can't do that on the internet. You're not a retard whisperer, you're a retard just like I am. We're all retards down here.

I believe in treating people the way they deserve to be treated. And in most cases that's politely at the very least. But it's not my job to build them up and validate their mental health. It's not your job either. If a person is struggling or asking for help, lead them to the water, just don't hold yourself responsible when they don't drink. People rarely want to change, even if they're struggling.

In on-topic topics the Daily Mail opines about uterus transplants. The article is mostly about the icky egg producers, so I'm only going to quote the important parts.

And they believe it is 'medically possible' to perform the procedure in trans women who were assigned male at birth but have had sex change surgery.

Dr Paige Porrett, the lead surgeon at the Comprehensive Transplant Institute at UAB, told DailyMail.com: 'I think there's a lot of providers, such as myself, who would envision that is the case.'

'I think that it is certainly medically possible. The future is wide open.'

About 100 uterus transplants have been performed in the world so far. The whole process takes about 18 months

However, Dr Porrett cautions it's still too early to put a timeline on that kind of breakthrough and warns there could be increased risks in transgender patients due to hormones and previous gender-affirming surgeries.

'I think it'll happen in the future, but there's going to be a lot more work that our community needs to do to be able to offer that safely.'

Absolutely no discussion of men who want to get pregnant just so they can have an abortion. Bigots.

How do normal people encourage normal validation in this new lower case i internet world? We have military service and rare acts of heroism but none so easily accessible as growing your hair out for a year and calling your genitals female. How do normal people make normal people feel noticed and appreciated?
I wonder if its less about validation and more about flexing.
>Yeah I just entered this women's weight lifting tournament and wiped the floor with them. What are *you* going to do about it, chud?
Like some ultimate form of power tripping where you can force people to accept a 6'3 man in a dress is actually a woman.

Why does the medical community keeps posting this bullshit?I'm not a biologist by any means but even i know there's more the pregnancy than just putting a uterus in a male's body and it'll work.Even a quote from the article from one of those "leading womb transplant experts" claims "The process is considered high-risk in "cisgender women" due to increased risk of complications." and "Doing this in a transgender woman, especially one who still has male sex organs, would be even more difficult due to those anatomical differences."What the fuck makes these experts believe any of this is possible?

They already routinely screw up the surgeries that are standard and get away with it. Why would they start caring about their patients now?

I find it hard to believe it's anything they actually believe in. Outside of finding some pleasure in turning perverts into suicidal eunuchs, it has to be a scheme to keep people on life-long pain management (among other population-controlling factors)

Yeah, the medical stuff all sounds like it's part of the grift.

I think there's a lot of providers, such as myself, who would envision that is the case. I think that it is certainly medically possible.

It's like buying a piece of friction-fit ikea furniture and going "I think it'll hold together even if we only put half of the pegs in."

It may have been posted here already, but there was another DM piece I saw in my newsfeed about the chief psychologist of california talking about "Gender Minotaurs," and how people can identify as a girl on top and a boy on the bottom, or a boy in the front and a girl in the back (from a kid that had long hair). They're just entirely trying to erase the idea of being gender non-conforming in order to shove kids through the insurance grinder.

here's the link: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...al-claims-kids-identify-gender-minotaurs.html

Here's part of it, I cut out the parts where DM were sperging about what minotaur means.
Dr. Diane Ehrensaft is the director of mental health and chief psychologist at the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital gender development center.

Her research focuses on the effects of puberty blockers and hormones on children

In a list of terms published by Ehrensaft, in a paper titled The Gender Affirmative Model, she refers to different ways in which children have described themselves.

One of these included 'gender minotaur', which is described as being a descriptor for a child who sees themselves as one gender on top, and another on their bottom half.

Other claims made by the psychologist include what she describes as a 'gender prius'.

This label is said to have been explained to her by a child who looked like a boy at the front, but had a long braid tied in their hair with a pink bow.

According to the paper, the child said: 'You see - I'm a Prius, a boy in the front, a girl in the back. A hybrid.'

Other terms include a 'gender smoothie' which is described as a variation of being gender fluid.

One teenager described it to Ehrensaft as: 'You take everything about gender, throw it in the blender, press the button, and you’ve got me—a gender smoothie.'

Another term shared by Ehrensaft is 'gender tesla' which she describes as a transgender state some children reach after being gender hybrid.

Ehrensaft had previously told a 2018 talk held at the San Francisco Public Library: 'I totally agree we are in the midst of a gender revolution and the children are leading it.

'It's a wonderful thing to see. And it's also humbling to know [children] know more than we do about this topic of being gender expansive.'

Ehrensaft believes that transgenderism is derived from a 'gender web' which is influenced by culture, upbringing and nature.

During the talk in 2018, Ehrensaft discussed a conversation she had with a 7-year-old that there can be 'gender minotaurs'.

She also said: 'I started meeting a whole bunch of other gender hybrids. And so we have the gender prius, we have a gender minotaur.

'And most of the kids who are gender minotaurs love mermaids. So make sure you have a lot of mermaid books. If you really you think about it, it works.'
Any doctor who says "children know more than we do" should have their licence revoked. Why the fuck did you go to school for however many years it was then? Just let literal children do your jobs for you.

Fun fact: The psychologist in question, Diane Ehrensaft, was also involved in the Satanic Ritual abuse repressed memories scandal: Preschool Child Sex Abuse: The Aftermath of the Presidio Case
Diane Ehrensaft, 'Satanic Panic' Woo Peddler, Now Champions the 'Gender Angels' Among Us
She had a long, borderline schizophrenic talk where she told people to call upon their 'gender angels' to fight off 'gender ghosts':

She is still considered perfectly respectable and trustworthy by mainstream publications. Psychology is a scam.
