Are you shitting me? I'm now even more firmly doubting that Desmond is even gay. No self-respecting gay man would be caught dead with hair that looks like that. The makeup is hideous too, not even drag hideous, just a few highly pigmented drugstore products slapped on at the last second. The half-assedness of this cosplay would be a dead giveaway how little he actually wants to be doing this even if his visibly checked out demeanor wasn't the first clue. Even if we assume that he decided to dress up in his mom's clothes/makeup as a lark at the age of 3 totally of his own accord, which given Wendy's interest in gay club culture I find increasingly unlikely, anyone who has ever talked to a kid can tell you that just because they express interest in some random activity as a very young child, you can't expect them to maintain that enthusiasm consistently into their teenage or even preteen years. There is nearly always an obvious point where that shit is far more about the parent than the kid. Maybe you have the 0.1% where you end up with something like an Olympic athlete kid that lives and breathes a specific sport from fucking infancy but that doesn't happen without the parents being absolute ballbusters and often outright abusive narcissists.
The only point I got a laugh out of this thread was watching Wendy's sourpuss face of concealed rage when Desmond obliviously said (as an example of "accepting yourself" or whatever) is that he tells his mom she shouldn't feel badly about being overweight. Other than that it's been pretty consistently a bummer.
