Greta Gustava Martela / Kjel Anderson & Nina Chaubal / Niraj Chaubal - Stole $350k+ from Trans Lifeline, kill count of 2+ from negligence, Founders of Sisterwood/La Zorra.

Someone is. I can't say who. The people actioning OPERATION: Kiwigendered are putting their lives at risk. Kiwileaks takes protecting its sources very seriously.

The dumb political shit is the kind of thing where you might get off with a warning if it's a one-off thing and not a regular practice, but anyone who does something that glaringly dumb and obviously against the rules for a 501(c)(3) is very likely fucking up in larger ways as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if inurement is an issue, i.e. the organization and its resources inuring to the benefit of private individuals. They are pretty dumb to be inviting this level of scrutiny.

Charitable organisations are dependent on the goodwill of others and as such it is an industry famous for stretching the truth to solicit donations. They will always plead poverty even with huge reserves and overstate their own contributions because they are competing directly for funding with other charities.
You are touching, however slightly, on another issue that hasn't yet been discussed here. A 501c3 has the obligation to use donations that were obtained by solicitation for whatever was advertised as part of the solicitation if no disclaimers are present.
For example, if I said "I need money to train some kiwi investigators", I'd be obligated to spend every dollar I got as a response to that solicitation on what I said. Spending it on something else (even if it is something that the charity is known for doing) is known as "misappropriation".

@Fallensaint and I were thinking the same thing. Seeing their 990 could be useful in understanding that a bit more. Knowing the nature of the business, the period of growth it currently sits at and what they state their revenues and expenses to be can give a little whiff. Another thing is that th have repetedly used organizational resources to market personal things. Greta used their public translife exec facebook to advertise a wagon they had for sale and shilled for money for a root canal multiple times. They have lobbied a bit, but the standard in the US is generally based on expenditures not twitter or FB posts, so they would likely be fine on that front. I am just baffled that people would give these people money and further why there isn't a concise definition of what they do. Their articles when filing under 501(c)3 would indicate scope of the business, and if their scope is "suicide hotline for trannies" and not "general helpline for trannies" that could poke a hole in their veil.

They do actually make clear on the website that they're a general tran.s resource line which has a focus on suicide prevention.

The US may be slightly different to here, but generally non-profits here include a general boilerplate in their articles which pretty much covers anything associated with their broadly stated purpose. It's there partly so you don't need to re-write your articles as the organisation grows and adopts new projects.

But yes, if you do a fund-raising drive for a specific purpose, you either need to state that the funds may be used for anything the organisation does or you need to quarantine the money and use it only for that purpose. Things like "training" tend to be very flexibly defined, though. You could hold a 2 hour session at the Hilton with gourmet catering and it would still fit the definition even though it might be a reckless use of funds.

More generally, non-profits use different (and sometimes even conflicting) statistics depending on what angle they are trying to pitch. This is generally acceptable as long as you don't conjure the numbers out of thin air.

Seriously, where's the wife (that's young enough to be his child) in all this?

Paid staff member of the organisation and travelling along with Greta.

Cross-posting this from the Interior thread because it's another stunning example of Greta's poor judgement when it comes to separating the organisation's business from her personal life. Also confirms that stable mental health is not a requirement for their volunteers and that Greta is happy to leak confidential information which could identify vulnerable people dealing with her organisation.

One of the rookie mistakes Greta makes on a frequent basis is not keeping a clear distinction between Trans Lifeline and Greta. Throwing in with Phil (or Chris, or Fire) is one example of taking an action on a personal level which could negatively affect her organisation, but there are more worrying ones which come close to the line in terms of revealing on her personal page things which should be confidential within her organisation and which potentially expose her clients and/or volunteers to unwanted scrutiny and also call into question her programme's vetting processes.

Here's a stellar example in which Greta confirms that her programme uses people with unresolved mental health issues as volunteers and also publicly gives sufficient information on her personal account about the volunteer in question that it's possible they could be identified by both staff and other participants in the PTSD programme at the Minneapolis VA Medical Centre. Confidentiality, how does it fucking work?

I've actually seen that film. It's a crock of utter shit. A bit like Greta and her claim to be helping over 9000 trans people a day from committing suicide.

So have I. It tried to be a comedy and serious, fucked up both, and it's only redeeming feature was a villain who would have been actually scary in a better movie.

According to it's Wikipedia page, the creators claimed it was about "trans empowerment", but it did such a bad job of showing it and gave trannies such a bad rap you'd think it was a parody instead.

Kinda like the subject of this thread, who I take as seriously as I did the movie.

I'm also pretty sure their 990 doesn't say the purpose of the organization is having pissy grudge matches with websites that say mean things to him.

I predict a Kiwi brings down this organization and Greta goes full crazy troon and assaults/murders Null and/or his mom.
And Null must defend his Gamer Bunker and anal virginity via improvised boobytraps, leading to wacky hijinks and pratfalls.
