Adam Johnston / YourMovieSucks / YourMovieSucksDOTorg / AnUnkindness - It's hip to fuck dogs.

I used to like his early videos, but that was years ago tbh. I dropped off around the whole lion kind BS I think. But it could have been before then.

Aside from the fact that the dude cannot keep a schedule if his life depends on it, and keeps on getting side tracked or uploads shitty quickies to remind the algorithm his channel is still alive, I think that I grew to dislike him as a person.

The more time passed, and the more he actually exposed himself to his audience. Whether it be through his public online degeneracy, his hate watching sessions with friends or his podcast.

Then again, this does not mean he has much to be pedantic about.

He is just an insufferable faggot with an over inflated and misplaced ego. And that does not necessarily translate into bad content as long as you're willing to keep your shitty personality separated from it.
I just want to add onto this: Adam made a point of living in expensive as fuck Toronto because "muh movie career" and as far as I know he's still in Toronto paying through the fucking nose in rent (for a job he could work anywhere) and still no movie and not even a short film has been produced.

He's just a lazy faggot who wants that upper crust life style.

What's even funnier is, on the same day Adum posted his hit piece in the name of "critique" on TCD, Drinker posted a photo on Twitter from behind the scenes of the live action of his Ryan Drake novel series from, guess where.... Canada [A].

So yeah, I'm struggling to understand what this "movie career" of YMS really is. Because a guy from Scotland has an airport spy-novel writing career & can make a movie project of his own series, while still consistently & more successfully run his YT channel, which is more of his passion towards films than a main business of his, on the top of having opinions on films which would be "wrongthink" for leftoids like Adum & could nearly get channels removed.

But somehow a local from Toronto like Adum can't do jackshit for at least a decade, while having garbage upload consistency, despite it being his main & only source of something close to an income, while having Reddit opinions, & still got close to nearly getting his Twitch Clips channel removed. Hell, does Adum even have an IMDB account with any of his "projects" on it?

drinker's channels have great engagement that I'm certain adam wishes he'd had on his own channels.
Maybe if he wasn't a gigantic lazy fuck who would rather prance around in a horse costume and get fucked by the smallest black cock alive than make videos he'd have the same results?

How many months has he spent slurping up twitch donos while eating ramen, not editing, his basic bitch reviews that he doesn't even script anymore? Oh owchie wowchie my wristy wisty hurts from all my hard work clicking at a computer all day!

Fucking stupid faggot. This whole thing is him just getting envious and trying to get some engagement. He should stick to faggotry and let the movie reviews die.

Adumb is just a few years away from going full spoony.
Best way to break him will just be to recognize him for his most vapid idiotic content (such as cool cat) to cement in his mind that he is not known for any intelligent content.
He is just the "laugh at funny mascot" guy. and that's all he will be known for.

He is prepped to ignore the beastiality stuff, but he will never escape the pain of being a 1 trick stupid content pony

Is Synechdoche even a good movie or is it just overly pretentious crap people like Adam say is good to feel superior?
It definitely is a good movie although it might not be enjoyable to some people.
But it is worth analysing and not just some pretentious arthouse crap.
I never felt bored watching it.

However if you want to try to get some Normies to watch a good movie I would recommend something like Adaption or Being John Malkovich since they are more lighthearted and funny.

I listened to his clips videos as background noise until every fucking one had 5-10 minutes about the trailer being low res or some other lazy shit. He does not even do good coverage of Derek Savage anymore.

He is just boring.

Also his music was almost as bad as Cog's.

It is good but it is not good enough to warrant the level of obsession it sparked in Adam. There is something in it that really hits for him and he is the kind of fag who just cannot let things go.

Adam is lying full stop.

The reason he is living in Toronto is because he wants easy access to gay sex. 60% of Canada lives right next to the Saint Lawrence river and Toronto is one of those places. He's from Vancouver and almost certainly moved to Toronto because he has a polycule of gay furries he can rotate between. The reason he isn't honest about it is because Adam is pretentious as the day is long. He needs an upper class bourgeoise reason as to why he doesn't move to a cheaper place. He can't pick a relatable reason like "friends/family" no he needs to pick "I need to be where the cinema is".

I disagree. Spoony had a history of extremely antisocial behavior and was constantly shittalked by people around him before he had his big hiatus. For example, former TGWTG contributors said that Spoony was a dick and they didn't like him in the days of the TGWTG anniversary specials way before he was kicked out. He also had a history of treating his fans like garbage ever since he first started and his ED page documents this. By comparison Adam's history of drama is much more minimal and he's mostly steered clear of it until this Drinker spat.

I do think what will eventually happen is one of Adam's former lovers will shittalk him publicly but this'll likely go nowhere and he'll keep going. It is possible he'll enter a decline in viewers but all he needs to get popular is review a popular movie and call it bad and it gets him views fairly consistently.

Adun is a poser. He loves to talk about artsy films, but he doesn't watch the great classics.

I could be wrong, but I don't think he even watched a Bergman in his life. Maybe only Stalker as far as Tarkovsky goes. I won't even talk about the golden era of Hollywood. I firmly believe Adun doesn't know anything about even Billy Wilder.

Just to give you an idea about how bad is his knowledge of films, he only watched Taxi Driver because of the Joker hype.

Last I'd heard Adam talk about it, he couldn't even finish Eraserhead because he tried to watch it years ago in blocks, meaning he'd watch the first third, stop, and then watch the rest. However, David Lynch insisted on chapter selection being disabled on the DVD release. When Adam went the next day to watch more of it, he saw there was no chapter selections, and got so mad that he's refused to watch it again or simply fast forward to the part he left off.

He refuses to watch a classic film because he wasn't allowed to cheat it and watch it in episodic TV show length portions.

His justification on Sardonicast has been that the films being made today have already incorporated all the advancements of the classic Hollywood era of films, so of course films being made nowadays are going to be better. The more I describe it, the more evident it is that Adam is a consoomer who consooms films and gets stuffy and stuck-up about it, but only as a thinly veiled facade.

Dude has seen all the Shrek films but not Through a Glass Darkly or the Seventh Seal.

If you haven't been shoved into a small dank theatre and not allowed out until you've endured the whole thing you haven't seen Eraserhead.

I don't think he's ever lived in Toronto. He's from Edmonton originally and has lived in Vancouver for his entire life adult life as far as I know, but he will become a U.S. citizen soon just so he can live with his black BF in Atlanta for longer periods.

However, David Lynch insisted on chapter selection being disabled on the DVD release.
Dude has a gigantic hate boner for Lynch and shits on him when given any opportunity. Pretty sure he still hasn't watched any of Twin Peaks solely to spite the fans in his audience who adore his works. A lot his aversion to Lynch stems from Lynch's insistence on ambiguity and never really relaying anything explicit to the viewer. I think he values directors who try to make a clear and concerted effort in what their trying to express more than flat out "nebulous surrealism." But at the same time, the Holy Mountain is one his favorites and he will ascribe borderline pareidolic meaning to a lot of Kaufman's works, especially Synecdoche so idk.

That's rich if true. When Ralph made Sardonicast watch Wild At Heart, Adam got really hung up on when the film was obvious in its Wizard of Oz imagery. He smugly says "it really should have been more subtle!" and gets upset that they explicitly explain in dialogue that the characters are like those in the Wizard of Oz. He couldn't understand that it was a mockery of how borderline insulting mainstream Hollywood films are with their imagery, instead critiquing it for feeling like it was insulting his intelligence.

Looking back, I've got to defend Adam a little bit now having seen some of Critical Drinker's reviews and specifically that of the Barbie movie. There are many arguments that Critical Drinker poses that hinge upon inaccuracies in recounting the plot. If it was merely things up for interpretation then that'd be different, but he misconstrues basic plot elements to facilitate his reading of the film.

The biggest example is when he says that the audience is supposed to actively take the perspective of the bitchy teenage daughter, and that she's the one who played with the Barbie doll to bring her to the real world. Both are plainly factually incorrect but play into his harsh reading of the film. If you can't ascertain the most fundamental of plot details, then how can you be expected to unravel the critical nuances of the social commentary?

If you only saw this review, it'd be a plausible conclusion to think "this guy grifts by lying about basic plot details to sell his audience the narrative they want to hear about the films they already hate but don't know quite why yet."

edit: This might be off-topic at this point, but seeing the Barbie movie and thinking that you're supposed to empathize with the cruel and heartless teenage girl with no agency whose character arc is learning that her cynicism is her emotional repression over feeling alienated from her mother, the real owner of the Barbie doll? Really? Is this dude retarded? She's not even introduced until the second act. Critical Drinker sincerely believed this is who the writers wanted people to look at and go "whoa, that's totally me, I can relate to that and will anchor my identifications with that character now!" This dude is kinda stupid too, ngl.

You can dislike two people at the same time who disagree with each other.
While true, that's immaterial to my point. I'm talking about their argumentation quality, not their likeability as a person. I've never liked either of them, but now I empathize with Adam's instinctive response to Critical Drinker. You only botch basic plot details as a professional critic out of incompetence or malevolence.
