I don't think Chris wants to go back to live with Barb. He always wanted to get away from his parents.

I'm starting to think Chris actually is the fucked-up protagonist of this universe. No matter what horrible thing happens to him or whatever horrible things he's done, he always gets out on top, scot-free.

Even after confessing to incestuous rape of his dementia addled 81-year-old mother on tape and spending two full years in jail awaiting trial, he gets his charges miraculously dropped, he isn't put on any sex offender registry and he gets full access to the internet to continue on posting about his Sonichu deity delusions without skipping a beat. Whatever psych hold and meds they put him on temporarily during his evaluation didn't even have any long lasting effect on him.

The status quo is always restored, without fail. The Jail Saga was just a temporary hiatus for the writers to figure out where the story goes next. (And hopefully the writer is Chris himself and not some gay weens)
