What was interesting is that he claimed that Anime Matsuri was 'work', despite barely hanging out with fans. He used a very interesting simile about his 'work' being different than working on roofs and roads in the heat.

Interesting that someone in this thread made a similar analogy just days ago...
That was me.

Somewhat similarly, @Spaded Dave said that if he ever considers sitting on his ass work, he would hope a longshoreman bursts through the wall and proceed to beat the shit out of him.

I think some of this might have to do with tax write offs. Saying things like that looks good for the IRS. If he claims Matsuri was work, he can claim airfare, and all sorts of shit I imagine. I think he said at one point he was claiming the Shelby as a business expense, though I might be misremembering that.

I don't read comic books, but I would absolutely support a crowdfunded "Adventures of Balldoman, Attorney at Law."

Attorney Nick Rekieta is living a double life. Happily married father of five by day, each night the conservative, god fearing lawyer is transformed by whiskey and modanifil into the monstrous Balldoman.
In tonight's episode, Balldoman finds himself in a race against time. As Dick Masterson's chief janny, can Balldoman sweep up the latest mess and still find time to solicit enough Jamaican men to fill Our Wife's cavernous loins?

He did say that he would try to write off the paintings he bought because he put them in his studio as decoration. He also said the cars would work because he streamed from them and went to and fro between 'business meet-ups' and the like. I am fairly certain he also said that his drawing tablet that he used once to transform Ana Kasperian into Mohammed (PBUH) while drunk was a write-off. Funnily enough, I think it was a stream where he started a 'these damn kids' rant, but that was mollified by his mention of the tax break 5 children accrue.

Sounds pretty shaky, but what do I know. Americans play this funny game where you have to guess how much money your owe Government and they put you in jail if you are incorrect (or too poor to exploit the loopholes).

well his gay position is clear now, he openly said that because he hates when people tell him to do something he will now do the opposite, and the current thing is people telling him to denounce a flaggot and a pedo for going after other content creator's livelihood, so he will side with the pedos

It's my understanding the UK tax code does have provisions for business cost deductions same as we do.

Now whether or not every one Nick is claiming is legitimate per US law, I can't say. I'm not a CPA or tax attorney. The paintings, for example, seem a bit weird to me, but the car is probably more reasonable.

Anyways, I'm just theorycrafting that he's gonna publicly claim everything is work related, to the maximum extent possible, in case he decides to go for a deduction and an IRS agent looks into it.

Nick argues that Eric July is a public figure because he had a successful crowdfunding campaign.

Okay.

Is there any dispute July is a public figure? I'm pretty sure he is. If Montagraph is one, July sure the hell is.

I might be missing something here.

No, it just shows Nick hipocrisy, he turned 180 on all his positions regarding the Vic Mignona case, about TI, about being a public figure, etc. Now his friends are doing exactly the same thing he accused Ron Toye and Funimation of doing, but it's suddenly OK, or "there isn't just enough evidence" or just plainly "this is gay"

Eric July is probably a public figure because he's a content creator and I don't agree with him going after people for doxing, but Nick's take is retarded. More so, the people Eric is going after have done worse to him.

I'm pretty sure Nick would have bristled at the suggestion that a successful crowdfunding campaign is sufficient to demonstrate that one is a public figure a few years ago:

Oh, that.

I had forgotten all about that, because I brushed him off as being full of shit, even at the time. He had this ridiculous standard that Vic wasn't a public figure unless some random person on the street knew who he was. Like I couldn't pick the CEO of General Electric out of a lineup, but if you told me he was he was the CEO of GE, I'd agree he's a public figure.

I think, back then, Nick said a lot of shit even he didn't believe in in an effort to drum up support. I don't even recall if he pushed that narrative for very long.

Frankly I think his dismissing the idea that Dick and Vito are fucking with Rippa's business speaks more to how he changed than than the public figure thing. Nick spoke about TI with actual conviction.

So let me get this straight:

-some anon emailed the christian company ISOM about eric's ISOM
-cISOM tries to contact eISOM but eric ignored it
-cISOM sends him a letter of lawsuit of sorts
-eric takes this seriously this time and drops the news online
-eric points the finger at dick and vito and both start to panic and denies involvement (nick starts fellating dick)
-nick streams with kurt about the trademark (nick still fellating dick and motions vito over)
-eric makes a statement about not going on other streams and also calls out nick (nick streams again, saying he supports eric while still fellating dick)
- cISOM's ceo goes online and clarifies that lawsuit is not served yet and they can still talk it out with eric (nick still fellating dick and now gives vito a handjob)
-dick and vito reverses course and starts smugly implying that they are the anon because they think they are homefree? (nick still fellating while saying eric has nothing to stand on)

Is that it so far? And fairly accurate?

Eh, you’ve got the overall gist of it.

Like I couldn't pick the CEO of General Electric out of a lineup, but if you told me he was he was the CEO of GE, I'd agree he's a public figure.
The standard is supposed to be very high for a general purpose public figure. Under the original Sullivan standard it was nearly limited to politicians and celebrities and either people who operated in the public sphere (so talking about their activities was political speech) or were household names. The scope has creeped significantly and in a bad direction.

Why even have the concept of a limited purpose public figure if anyone who isn't a complete hermit qualifies as a general public figure who can be called a child molester with absolute impunity?

Nick did a LOCALS stream:

- It was supposed to be a hot tub stream, but his housekeeper did not use it while he was gone so it was not maintained. He was surprised because she usually works from their house and her boyfriend comes over and they use it. He says this is not a neg on the housekeeper, and they could not function without her.

- He had his short swim trunks rant again. When called out as not having dated for over 20 years, he says that married people (him in particular) have the same pursuit of attractiveness to their partner and it is the only way to keep a marriage together.

Short half pants are gay. Dating is not the same as marriage, Nick. His advice to 'keep it fresh' is fairly good advice, but the credentials are lacking and the rest is bunk.

- Nick had a tangent about his house, reiterating that he bought the house before the Vic case. People are mad about how he spends his money, and that is weird. He had really good investments but they still struggled. They had a lot of help and blessings from family, and there was a safety net (he has never lied about that) but he still remembers the financial struggling. People are just mad about how he spends his money.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The spin on this... It isn't envy, it is thr idea that someone who has no idea of real working class struggles can speak with authority on those issues.

- He cut down on porn becuase he was enlightened when he forgot to close his tabs and his wife saw it and felt inadequate. More couples need to have conversations about it. Men need to have release and women need to communicate what they don't like about it. Women should make their own porn for him to get off too if they don't put out or let him watch porn. Women should not complain. Men should reciprocate by making it fun for her. His suggestion is to just have sex whenever either party wants it.

- He pivoted the show to watching the rape anime on a television. He was using XBOX, and have issues remembering his password. There was about 10 minutes of dead air. it would not play due to an audio decoding issue. He spent more time wrangling through menus.

My guess is that the Blu-Ray he held up so proudly on stream was a badly encoded pirate copy. This is some DSP tier content and boomer commentary. LOL!

- He pivoted into a rant about how much he wanted to stream on vacation but how hard ir was. He put on an Adny Sedaris film (Guns) in the background with strippers while he talked about how women are bo longer allowed to be beautiful ans do not WANT to be beautiful. Being pretty is part of thr patriarchy

- He and his wife do not go out locally. It is weird because local people would get ideas. People think it isweird for married couples to go out. If they were not close, he would not care about their opinions. Instead, they go far away to do it in Minneapolis. He reiterated they go to the hotel alone.

- He gets couples' massages together with Lady R. He knows about an app that tells you for a monthly subscription where to get 'extra service'. He would not do it becuase none of his masseurs/mussuese have been attractive.

- He made random commentary and sex jokes on the film, then ended the stream abruptly before the end of the film.

It all seemed very half-hearted and spastic. It was weird.
