I'd argue such women are only "feminists" by accident and circumstance - what they really are is "popular opinion-havers". If feminism suddenly became socially unpalatable for some reason, they'd abandon it in a heartbeat for whatever new ideology became socially advantageous to espouse.

I don't agree at all ideologically with hardcore TERF types, but at least they're taking a position that isn't safe and won't get them universal approval.

That goes back to at least the sixties. Feminists were really anti-porn and it even went beyond that. I recall Gloria Steinem saying something along the lines of gay sex being misogynistic because it mimics sex between a man and a woman (where the woman is always brutalized of course).

You're right about the shlickfics too. Walk into any given grocery store and you're able to pick up a Harlequin novel or Fifty Shades. Online, yaoi has always been easily accessible as well and it's generally characterized by young boys raping each other. Any criticism against it tends to be deflected with something along the lines of "why are we going to attack girls for expressing their sexuality?". Likewise, I'd be really surprised if most pooners' first exposure to the culture wasn't through yaoi fan communities.

To be honest, I think anything that isn't radical feminism is a waste of time. Anything lighter tends to be repackaged egalitarian or liberal beliefs with a female slant. Feminism, like any other movement, vies for control. Equality or even equity were never going to be enough, so why not own that? Wanting the freedom to man hate and also deny accountability for it is having your cake and eating it too.

I'd say those men have awful partner selection skills as well, don't stick your dick in crazy is a common phrase among men for a reason and usually the signs are there before you begin a relationship. She even says they were there in her relationship, but she ignored them.

If I can laugh at some guy getting stuck with a psycho that boils rabbits and tries to kill him, I'll laugh at a woman that marries and has multiple children with a deadbeat or crazy idiot who has showed all his awful qualities at the beginning.
