My Little Brony II: The Cloppening

Throwback to this classic kino
This is like everything that was wrong with bronies. Making it some kind of weird identity.

If you just said yeah I like this goofy show for little girls, so what, people might think you were a little weird but otherwise it would raise no eyebrows.

But no, they all had to "come out" as bronies. . .you know like it's a sexual identity. At that point people are going to be giving you the stinkeye.

This is perhaps my favourite genre of horse photographs from /mlp/.

To be fair, identifying as a "brony" can make sense as Fandom group identifier, much in the same way identifying as a trekkie would (I personally believe a lot of this generation's would-be trekkies became bronies instead).

But yeah, treating it super seriously, almost like a sexual identity as you put it, rather than just a dumb Fandom you happened to be a part of was one of the weirder aspects that could make it seem kind of sketchy.

...The fact that there's a shitload of R34 content associated with it certainly doesn't help matters.

I feel like this is rooted in the insecurities bronies felt about themselves being grown men who watch a girly show. So it probably has to do with them being insecure about their masculinity as to why they treated it as super serious.

Zoomer bronies are now hating on Over the Barrel, an episode from season 1, because it's "racist" and "offensive". Braeburn apparently is racist and a coloniser, funny seeing as his only character trait in the early brony fandom was "lol he's gay and homosexual"

Imagine being this fucking autistic about a show for little girls from a decade ago which is itself a remake of another show from the 80s thats like 40 years old now

None of these niggers have a life, not even the bare minimum which is already old nowadays

What's funny is the kind of people (women generally) who still collect the '80s first generation ponies are generally normies who grew up in the target demographic for the show (including Lauren Faust herself for that matter). It was pretty obvious there was going to be massive degeneracy though when /b/tards got a hold of it and started shitposting it all over 4chan, and then it almost overtook pokeporn as the most R34'ed franchise in just a couple years.

Apparently I was mistaken, and this is the real Aryanne.

I've been reminded of something: I once saw some Reddit users complaining about /mlpol/ and how they consider a white man and a negress to be terrible, but not a white man and a mare. I just found that to be funny. I'd sooner wife a mare than a negress, no contest, but the comparison is a little unfair to the horse, to treat it like it's not obvious, I think.

You say that now, but then you look at the hoarder collector forums (the very same ones that had vocal shitfits over G4 getting popular) and you find youtube videos like these:
You try and tell me that this is what normies do, man, this shit just feels creepy to me.

It's so weird to see that bronies are still around. Hasbro basically doesn't want to acknowledge them and every person who isn't a weird autist/furry/troon still remembers them as cringe neckbeards. They don't even talk about the new show. Just the show that ended several years ago.
