2023-09-23 - Nitasha Tiku: conversationMedia request for comment from The Washington Post

The group’s Sisyphean battle illustrates the lack of mechanisms for reporting online abuse, much less for banishing harmful content. It also raises serious doubts about society’s ability to block any site from the global web — even one that explicitly incites violence.
“Either people think Kiwi Farms is dead forever … or they think it’s up and therefore it’s going to remain up forever,” said Fong-Jones, a transgender site-reliability engineer who had been targeted by the forum. “Neither of those two narratives are true.”
Founded by Joshua Moon, a former 8chan administrator, Kiwi Farms evolved into a popular platform for creating harassment campaigns. Its users often fixated on transgender people, relentlessly stalking and doxing them. At least three of its victims died by suicide.
In response to a request for comment, Moon wrote by email, “Do you still print that rag on paper? If so, please send a physical copy of your smear piece to the PO box listed on the website so I can frame it. Thanks.”
The campaign against Kiwi Farms began in earnest last summer. Sorrenti, a Twitch streamer who became famous as a news star for trans youth, had been under attack for months by Kiwi Farmsusers, who she said doxed her address and “swatted” her home, filing a false crime report that drove police to her door. In August, she fled her native Canada for Europe and launched a social media campaign to pressure internet providers to stop protecting the forum, using the hashtag #DropKiwiFarms

I needed to quote this entire segment just to illustrate the absurdity of how they quoted Null here.
Not only am I shocked they actually used his response, but they did it in a way that openly invalidates the entire article and insults their readers. It’s honestly beautiful. It makes every word before it openly known to be a smear, and makes everything after it irrelevant.

I can’t clap enough for how well played that quote actually was and how incompetent WaPo is for including it. I expected them to either say “Moon refused to comment.” The worst part is that I actually think they are under the impression that the quote makes Josh look evil. “Oh no, this evil white supremacist 8chan admin called our honest reporting a smear campaign and implied our dignified publication is a rag not good enough to be printed.” not since the Newsweek “Madam President” mishap have I ever seen such levels of cope and seethe from a journalist.

I also wanna briefly comment on the “site used to organize harassment and stalking campaigns”
-which is brought up a lot in the article, almost like that’s the phrase this curry muncher is hoping the reader mentally associates with the Kiwifarms. -
Anyone who has opened literally any thread, regardless of what it is, would immediately see that there isnt any organizing or campaigns at all. We’re effectively a knitting circle for internet weirdos to gossip. Hell, there’s not even a general consensus of opinions in this thread. I don’t think Kiwifarms members can agree on anything long enough to organize a harassment campaign. Even trans life line wasn’t a large scale operation. Just a few dedicated people looking at it while the rests just discussed the fuckery

Null’s Total Retard War is probably the only time a real campaign will be made, and he hasn’t officially given the call for that.

I think the most disappointing thing here is how generic and obvious it was. Like, we all knew a photo of keffles would be shown, we all new Liz Fong Jones would be mentioned, and we all knew the “totally happened and not made up guys” three suicides would be mentioned.

I was really kinda hoping we’d get something original with this smear campaign. For someone in that fucked troon ideology to have some shred of work ethic to try and actually read the site and make this an article that both accurately describes it and attempts to make the point that it shouldn’t exist. At least then it wouldn’t be the 40th scoop of vanilla colored with different food dye. But alas, I guess it’s convenient that the enemies of the site are always lazy retards

As if anyone with a brain who is awake at all can tell, the press are not our friends, they are not the friends of humanity in general.

They should be viewed in the same light as slavers and pirates, hostis humani generis, enemies of the human race. These vile, subhuman garbage who traffic in nothing but lies, should be treated as the vile insects they are.

They are basically nothing more but mindless instruments of the state itself. They are feds.

Somehow, their Byuuicide reference didn't even name Byuu directly. It's almost like they know this lie is so astoundingly arrogant and completely unfounded that they've quit claiming this specific guy who obviously did not die. They know it's a lie but they use it anyway. Fucking filth.

This stupid rag should commission some genuinely worthwhile investigative journalism, perhaps the Incel>Tranny>Pedo pipeline. Or use our SRS horrors thread to alert their readers to the real issues that arise from mutilating your genitals.

The Farms are a mirror. We are just pointing and laughing at the stupid shit people freely post to the internet. Men in dresses are fucking hilarious. They look stupid and we like laughing at them. We also like laughing at fat people. There really isn't much more to this site.

The article is an admission of defeat on the part of those seeking to take this website down, indicating those who originally campaigned to have it removed from the clearnet have “moved on” (a charitable way to say they’ve given up)

It might have taken them a while, but they’ve finally come to realise that as long as the content hosted here remains legal, there’s nothing they can do.

Notice the timing, though. They somehow collaborated to make sure the takedown took place on the same day as the Usual Suspects could be cited as sources.

This isn't a "news" story, it's a propaganda piece they orchestrated. Literal fake news.

I don't feel like going through 30+ pages of comments so perhaps someone already mentioned it but I feel like this "article" is the best advertisement for the farms Josh can get.

This journo Pajeeta is a classic example of a low IQ streetshitter that doesn't understand she's basically promoting KF. In an over moderated , politically correct online world full of reddits and twitters, where free speech is a distant memory, article like that will send more supporters and members our way and I assume it's a good thing and what you'd want @Null .

Americans, I gotta ask. What the hell is wrong with WAPO readers? Isn't this one of the biggest newspapers in America?
Normally, in big newspapers, you got at least somewhat normal people commenting, but these people seem to be unhinged lunatics.
WaPo readers have syphilis in their brains. They make Redditors and Twittertards look reasonable.

Believe me, I once subscribed to it just to shitpost in the comments. They treat everything as seriously as a heart attack. Not a single pleasant or jovial cell in their bodies. They showed me that liberals are insane and cannot be reasoned with.

The article is exactly at the level of quality I'd expect from a Buzzfeed writer. Just complete, obnoxious propaganda. The fact there are people that read this trash and don't realize they're being lied to, or don't check on these "facts" for themselves, makes me so fucking mad.

Used to be, parents would tell their kids to actually look into shit and not just believe anything they read. Now, it's all "trust the experts, never question them" when the term expert means less than nothing anymore.

I guess what I'm saying is I really, really hate the Anti-Christ.

Instead of this chick who spreads lies and defends sex pests, WaPo should hire @easy as she is the far superior lady pajeet and a hero for making the monkey torture and prostasia threads
The fake news known as the Washington Post is literally the same institution that promotes shit like the child molestation advocacy group the Prostasia Foundation.

The irony of their slogan hovering over this whole article.
