Texas’ power problems are because enough people have moved to the state that there is now no longer enough slack in reliable (gas/coal/nuclear/hydro) power to cover up the regular declines in wind/solar production. Hot days often have low wind (yesterday wind was producing only 5% of its rated capacity), so on hot days they’ve been forced to send alerts and ask industrial consumers to cut back. The solution is to build more gas/nuclear plants, but the press is blaming the outages on dumb Republicans clinging to their expensive fossil fuels.

By the way, Texas’ average residential cost per kWh before they invested in “cheap” wind was around 5 cents. It’s now around 13 cents, which makes sense because every wind farm needs a backup gas plant to ensure reliability, which doubles the price of electricity. If Governor Rick Perry had never pushed wind power, the Texas grid would be cheap and extremely stable. California shows what happens if you double down on “green” energy; their average cost is approaching 50 cents a kWh not including their high fixed charges.

It may still be cheap out in the sticks, but Houston, DFW, Austin, and San Antonio are absolutely not cheap by nearly any measure anymore.

Energy prices are going up because the Saudi's along with the Russians have decided to extend their oil cuts. Saudi Arabia has also stated they might increase the cuts in the near future.

The extra oil taken from the reserves has probably about run out now too, so it might too risky to further empty it now with geopolitical tensions being as high as they are.

Expect to see more stupid bullshit to distract people soon. Maybe they'll try a fake alien invasion, it would at least be creative.

Also, Biden has revoked the remaining oil and gas leases in Alaska, killing much needed jobs in that state. Bidenomics for the win!

Gas is creeping back up to $6 where I'm at. When gas prices started to plummet under Trump, the state started raising the gas tax. It never got below like $3.50 here, and since taxes never go away once they show up, the prices are getting outrageous now that we're back to begging goat fuckers for a crumb of oil.

It's an open secret that the environmentalist have been fear mongering and making shit up as they go along/rebranding with speed of light their talking points when they got discredited or people just plain started to tune them out. Started with global cooling, then global warming when global cooling got debunked then climate change when global warming never happened.

Abbott shipping illegals to these places and their reactions maybe made a few of these blue city scumbags notice, but they still think it's better to destroy red border states even if they take some hits. Watching how these leftists were bitching that sending people to blue cities was some kind of crime against humanity was pretty fun.
