Basically as a Gaijin you get a huge degree of latitude in Japanese society and are free of a lot of cultural norms and expectations because you are an uncouth foreign barbarian and it can't be expected to know how to believe in polite society. However if you look asian you're expected to follow the rules.
So if the extended family of the happa spouse is Japanese, now their Japanese spouse has to deal with sniping passive-aggressive Japanese in-laws and cousins.
If the family is All Other Asians, they are probably going to have deal with them being petty & passive aggressive to a japanese marrying in because WWII happened + normal asian family bullshit

But if the halfsie is a foreigner, that means there are good odds they can leave SEA and be kept away from extended asian family bullshit.

What are "those other bad" japanese

There are a couple of sub-groups of Japanese, its mainly cultural. I've forgotten all the details, and there is a lot of "Don't lump people from Houston in with those sissies from Dallas" that goes on. The big "obvious" ones are the group in Okinawa, Hokaido, and Middle (Tokyo/Kyoko - but urban, not the bumpkins on the farms).
Its not to the same level of hopping racial lines, but there is reluctance to marry someone from another region of Japan.

I'm trying to remember how exactly it was put but similar to "If you're going to propose you have to make sure she loves you more than her family". While this also brings up that the families might get along, it really means there are going to be some cultural differences (Wait, you pour the milk in the bowl before the cereal?) and your spouse is going to need to be OK with doing things different from how they were raised (and you as well).

I think its more related to being (at least ostensibly) Buddist nations.
I couldn't get a solid answer as to why Thais (I kidded the guys about ladyboys and... I'm not 100% sure that's not part of it).
The best I got out of them was while they didn't look japanese they acted japanese - no shitting on the curb like the chinks, no crime like the flips, smell better than the dots, no anger or hygiene issues like the dog-eaters, better educated than the rest of the Siamese. Basically none of them had any worries about bringing home a Thai boyfriend/girlfriend.
Which was a thing; One of the girls from the country-side I was flirting with and pressed a little harder than the others about her thoughts on dating foreigners said if she dated a white guy, she'd be ok introducing him to her parents but it was always going to be the parents would come visit them in the city (or whereever) no trips to the country side. She couldn't risk her boyfriend "forgetting to take his shoes off" at her parents' house - which was a catch all for anything "impolite to japanese cultural norms", aka Dad was going to expect anyone in his house to play by traditional Japanese rules Gaijin or not. If mom and dad were visiting, they could be forced to accept any non-japanese customs as 'foreigner's house, foreigner rules'. This was less an issue for the urbanized ones, but you could tell that bringing gaijin into their parent's home meant meeting higher standard than the one for dating/marriage.

Though thinking on it, the alliance could be part of it as well in so much that Thailand didn't get an occupation government so maybe they are less butthurt and more willing to adopt/adapt Japanese ways.
I dunno, I don't have any Thai people to talk to.

Japan and Thailand have a long history of cooperation and trade that goes way before WW2. This means Thais are seen as "good foreigners" in the Japanese collective consciousness and culture.

There were some contacts between the Ryūkyū Kingdom and the Ayutthaya Kingdom which dates far as the 15th century. Some trade between the two countries were successfully done during the 17th century, as the Japanese community in Ayutthaya began. He said Alves' previous ex pressed charges against him due to the abuse. Now, he has broken his silence, and even claims the Louis Vuitton bag is a knockoff:





Surprisingly, Rios came to Alves' defense in a now-deleted tweet, alleging Moore is guilty of stalking Alves after their breakup, which Moore denied. Rios also blocked Moore on Twitter after Moore responded to him.

I'd definitely put Han Taiwanese pretty high up. They are one of the most integrated groups of non-Wajin in Japan.
Culturally similar, with no historical-butthurt. Tends to have big cute eyes but otherwise looks passably Japanese. Similar level of economic development, so they aren't in Japan out of despiration.

Taiwan was more popular around Okinawa. And Taiwan has plenty of Japanese butt-hurt, its just highly moderated because after the Japanese were forced off the Formosans looked at each other and said "Yeah, those guys were awful. I'm really glad they're and all you know... but look, I'm just going to say what we're all thinkng: The occupation government was really efficient and got a lot of shit done. Why don't we just do what they were doing, but with us running it and no genocide?"

For Blacks, it really depended. A girl could usually have had a boyfriend down to Siamese and not be considered "ruined" for the most part; every guy as their own personal breaking point, but for non-counterculture sorts the drop-off point for "ew" was usually around dot-Indian. This brings us to current day and the thing which made me want to write this post in the first place.
The mod has been released and requires a constant internet connection and for you to join the mods discord and upload in image of your ID for age verification.

That's right, this random Minecraft sex mod has always online DRM that requires you to be whitelisted wiht an uploaded image of your photo ID to some random degen's discord server which I'm sure works flawlessly and would never ever backfire.
I believe the previous dev also tried to add his own DRM to some releases of the mod.

As of right now, the ID verification process and DRM has been temporarily disabled due to a very high volume of requests to their discord bot which threw the switch on some anti spam measures on Discord apparently.

I just find this whole situation to be sort of fascinating and horrifying, especially with the recent changes to the Minecraft ToS.
I'm sure if that list of IDs were to leak, Mojang would ban anyone they could get their hands on, let alone the laundry list of other reasons why sharing your real life state ID with a Minecraft sex modder might be a terrible idea.
I also can't believe that so many people are actually going along with it, but then again these are a breed of coomer who are specifically trying to play a Minecraft sex mod so how surprised can I really be.
