I disagree, the slight modernizations ME1 got in LE, although not necessary, helped a lot to make the game less clunky and more enjoyable, and not having to fuck around with DLC activation on PC is also a massive bonus. As it is, MELE is probably the best thing BioWare released since ME3; funny how that works out.

Each to their own but it wasn't a faithful re-release or remaster and they did litlle beside slight quality changes and removing the ability to punch a reporter in the face (I read it on the internet and haven't played MELE truth be told. I enjoyed it first time, I don't need to revisit it and tarnish the memory). ME3 was terrible, as was Me1. Bio ware haven't been great in 15 years. The last good game they released was DA:I. while unpopular, it did have a lot of passion in there, often times ruined by executive decision.

However, the larger point remains that the A-listers could certainly have done more to help out the Z-level voice actors, adjuncts, and extras who make considerably less and have been feeling the effects of the strike so much so recently they're either working part time or deciding which bills will and won't get paid.

From my understanding, Hollywood scabs are dissuaded by the long game. Everyone believes that there will come a point in which the strike comes to an end and Hollywood studios get back to hiring exclusively from unions as the contracts decree. In turn, the unions will remember who scabbed during the strike and punish them by denying union membership, which therefore means barring the scabs from work in that field of Hollywood altogether. While it is theoretically possible for someone to scab with both the adequate skill and no intention to continue work post-strike, it's extremely unlikely that such a person exists. I suspect there might also be pressure on the studio end to not hire scabs because they'd be required to dump them and throw out the work as soon as the strike ends. The media is also on the side of the unions and will feverously attack anyone who scabs on major projects.
