He definitely feels bad for them and shares a lot of the same beliefs. But I don't think anyone here genuinely hates them, even those of us that probably do have issues with women. It's more or less that this thread was created as a joke and became semi-serious over time but it's being treated like the scourge of the site because their thread baited and stirred up more shit than they could handle.

More or less we're fine with everything minus the double standard and the heavy handed moderation on the matter.

Yeah same, I just tend to hate people who hate me with no justifiable reason, especially immutable features and stuff outside my control, but it seems unproductive to do so.

It's the first time I've been caught up in any shit here and it was an experience. Not nearly as bad as the shit I've dealt with elsewhere since it's clear that he does care about the site, but like you said I don't think it's up to us to be psychic or that it's our responsibility to handle his emotions on the matter. How are we supposed to take any of it seriously in the first place unless we were doing any of the shit he complained about?

That's one of the reasons I figured it's best not to poke the bear. It's easier not to acknowledge the shitfit and talk amongst ourselves. That being said, it'd be dumb not to acknowledge the issue at all either, just not in a way that isn't smart.

Exactly. This is something I hate about any website is when their rules become blurred and there is no real consistency besides "you pissed me off and I disagree with you"

The messages and reasons for people getting banned in the Man Hate Thread is explained lazily that it's breaking the "low effort post" rule. For most of the forum's existence that rule has been cut and dry in what that is but now for this particular thread it is blurred into nitpicky reasons and opinions on what someone "feels" like is a low effort post.

This is the same type of blurry rule bending abuse that YouTube, Reddit, and many other big tech websites do and I freaking despise seeing that slimey practice being done here now too.

It's usually mothers who enable transitioning or even push it; boys are absolutely going down the troon path because of sexual misconduct by adults. Someone doesn't need to be physically touched to be subjected to the same stresses; we have seen the 'catboy/femboy' era of the internet that saw a lot of boys being pushed towards trooning out because of sexual deviancy pushed on by adults. It doesn't matter if those adults are male or female, it's repugnant to use that as any type of point to score against people.

It's also fucking retarded to assume that mental trauma only takes form as only sexual abuse. Boys are exposed to domestic violence and other types of trauma when they're younger just as girls are. If you deny this then you're part of the problem, Josh, sorry to say. It's the same attitudes that keep generations of male rape victims from coming forward. Painting it as a specifically female issue is harmful.

Sexual deviance also comes from other dark places in childhood; normally a bad relationship with the opposite sex parent. Attachment issues falls under the umbrella of early developmental behavioural influences as well as other factors. To make it out to be black and white is once again Sewer level.


Thread Banning:

No one realistically cares if they're banned from the Man-hate thread; the issue most of us have is that we're being banned disproportionately to the actual things taking place. I've already said in private that THREAD ban was expected for posting something like "ITT: women post their Ls" in the man hate thread, but banning and entire CATEGORY that has shit that isn't even female centric all the time is making us laugh at the mods.

Most of us were never warned. Most of us have posted in there with zero issues until that thread. It was just a MONTH's ban for comments that are expected absolutely everywhere else on the board. You can scream about the thread being bait but we laughing at them and posting such isn't taking that bait.

Why are you moderating it? You're bitching at the moderation scale and telling users to kill themselves but you apparently have zero issues with the creator of the thread who knew what they were doing and the people sending needless reports in. It isn't "shitting up a thread" to have different takes or to push back against an echo chamber. That's reddit tier. Just don't moderate a clearly shitpost thread. Simple. The entire thing has been a mountain made from a pile of dirt. The more moderators react the more people are going to laugh because the reddit-tier moderation is LAUGHABLE on a website that's supposed to be for people who came from the old days of the internet. No one is saying the website shouldn't be moderated; we're simply saying that the level of protection going in to that thread is dumb.

The site:

We appreciate the efforts you go towards keeping the site up however on the surface this shit is a bad look. It looks like powermodding. I want to highlight that:

1. The site is funded by users, you've said as much yourself
2. It requires users to be successful
3. Everything is user generated

If there was a liberal hate thread and someone came in and starting defending liberalism then we would LAUGH and COUNTER them, that's the entire point of forum culture. It's not to sit there all agreeing or moderating out different opinions. If someone has a position so weak and fragile that it requires a literal purge of dissenting views or whatever then it isn't especially strong.

I think the women should have a space on the site but that thread isn't it. It's clearly a shitposting thread and the only people who took the bait were the mods who believed it was anything other than one person's attempt to troll. If a man made the same thread with the same shit but opposite genders you'd be the FIRST to laugh and mock them, so I'm not sure why it's suddenly an issue when they're female.

tl'dr: nigga the man hate thread is a shitpost. Just don't moderate it.

I get super autistic about rules too. It's fine to bend them at times, but bending them like this is always a bad idea. It puts users in disarray because now they're working with invisible rules that can be enforced however and have no way of being avoided or contested. And like what was said earlier, most of us have the same general morals when it comes to free speech and things of that matter. That sort of behavior is naturally incompatible.
